I put Weaver bases on my Win 94 trapper 357 and I am going to use a XS ghost ring weaver sight and a weaver 1-3 scope; occasionally switching.

I went to mount the scope and first lap the rings when I noticed there is nylon stuck to the ring bores.

Should I use the nylon for this application or discard the nylon and lap the rings?

I am not expecting the scope to be perfectly zeroed after switches but would like it as close as possible.

You should get some quality rings rather than ChiCom junk.

I have nothing but Warne, Burris, and Deadnutz on all of my rifles. The lgs sold out and had these for $8 and they look decent. Their design will make a good detachable mount.

As suggested by goodiewrench, most Leapers stuff is pretty junky. I am not familiar with their rings, but I would try them as is. The nylon is there to make up for sloppy tolerances. They will probably work for you as is, on your .357. If not, don't waste time messing with them. Just get some Warne's or something else you like and press on.
