Hi guys. I just picked up a R700 Mountain Guide in 243 with the Ti stock pattern. I was wanting to know if the McM Mountain rifle pattern was a copy of the Ti stock? Also how does the Hunters Edge compare? Thanks in advance. Better pick up a couple before prices jump.

The Ti stock is probably closer to the McMillan KS - a little thicker in the grip area but if you put a KS side by side with a Ti take off they are hard to tell apart. Oh and the Ti comes in short action and the KS for a 700 does not.

The Hunters Edge makes for a great combo on the Mtn Guide - it does not have a cheek-piece though.

Thanks Oregonmuley that helps. I knew the KS only came in LA. I do like the cheek piece on the Ti stock but its something I can live without. What about the McM Mountain rifle pattern. Any info on these.

Is there something wrong with the Ti stock? I mean its not like its a cheap factory tupperware injection molded POS, its still a B&C.

The McMillian Remington Mtn. Rifle stock is just like the factory wood Mtn Rifle stock. I have an McM Rem Mtn. Rifle stock on one of my custom rifles and I owned a Mtn. Rifle when they first came out.
The stock is much slimmer in the pistol grip than the Ti stock. Forend and butt are slimmer as well. My only compliant is that the slim butt on the MR stock doesn't leave much surface area for a recoil pad. Not for hard kickers in other words.
I like the fit and feel of the Mtn. Rifle Stock. My least favorite is the Ti stock due to it's thick pistol grip. The Remington Classic stock is another of my favorites. E

Put our Mountain Guide in a Mountain Rifle stock. Very nice little rig. The hunter's edge is a nice stock, I just like the cheek piece on the MR.

Is the MR stock pretty much the same as the Hunters Edge with the cheek piece being the only difference? I'm clueless on McM patterns.
