I wanted a wssm when they first came out and never got one bought. Now i'm thinking i'd like to find a stainless classic in one of the wssm cartridges just because they're cool looking. The one thing that's holding me back is i wonder how they feed? I've only owned one WSM, a Kimber in 325, and was not impressed with how it fed. But I dont know if that was because it was a Kimber or because of the WSM.

I have owned and shot all three, go with the .25 if you are a deer hunter. I had 5 bucks come out and killed two then got excited and short shucked the third round. Coyote lite that likes to be bolted the same way every round. very best

You are certainly at the right place. Rifle loonies abound in these parts. Yes, you should buy one......

I had one of the Ultimate Shadow 243 WSSM rifles back in the day. No feeding issues, but I didn't care for the brass when it came to reloading.

I have a stainless/synthetic M70 .223 WSSM (though it's been rebarreled with a Lilja) and it feeds really smoothly.

bearstalker,

What were your issues with the brass?

FWIW, I have had better results using Federal WSSM brass than I did with the Winchester/Olin brass, both from factory loaded ammo and bulk/bagged. The Winchester/Olin brass is noticeably thicker than the Federal brass. Since Federal only made WSSM brass in 223 WSSM and 243 WSSM, I've had to neck up those cases up to 25 WSSM specs for most of my WSSM shooting.

I have some Federal WSSM brass that has been necked up to 25 WSSM and loaded nine times for shooting pdogs with only a few split necks and no loose primer pockets.

My Browning A-bolt Varmint Stalker (25 WSSM) fed perfectly, EXCEPT when I loaded very short varmint bullets in it at a much-shorter-than-SAAMI COAL. With that bullet and COAL it would sometimes jam on the ramp. Not always, but enough to make me single-load that particular cartridge combo.

I have nearly 3K rounds down the tube on my 1-14" Shilen 25 WSSM barrel, mostly 75 grain VMax and Sierra HPs, with a few 87 grain Speers and 90 grain Sierra BTHPs thrown into the mix. This rifle is built on a push-feed 70 Super Shadow action and feeds the shorter bullets, although I generally load it one round at a time when I use it for pdog shooting.
