So I have a bad itch for .25 cal rifles I have 2 25/06 and 1 257 bob. But I find myself want to scratch it again. This time I'm leaning towards a 25/06 ruger #1 varminter. Tell me what yall think and if someone has one tell me you story on the rifle!

Lovesomeshootin: I LOVE the 25/06 Remington caliber - it does SO many things so well in the Hunting arena. Especially for Medium and Big Game. I no longer use this caliber for Varmints - to much recoil for me. I went to the Ruger on line site (at least I think its the Ruger online site???) and they no longer show a 25/06 stainless steel Varminter in the Ruger #1 laminated stock model??? In fact they don't show a stainless steel Ruger #1-V at all anymore in any caliber! The Ruger #1-V is shown in 25/06 Remington caliber in the blued model with solid walnut stock. I have a Ruger #1-V SS with laminated stock in caliber 204 Ruger of recent manufacture and it shoots VERY well indeed. I also like the trigger on it. I wish I could be more help but I can't. Good luck with the new Rifle if you decide to get it. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
