Any of you guys have any experience with these you would share? How are they twisted? will they shoot rd ball or are they a sabot& pistol bullet shooter? Maxiball type? reliability issues? Looking at a used one. Magnum Man

1-28" twist (.50) I shoot sabots but it will shoot just about anything. Very reliable just a pain to keep clean...after shooting you must take the bolt apart to get it thoroughly clean. Accurate as any MZ I've ever shot. I would like one of these in the carbine version with a 20 inch barrel. I think i have seen them before but may have dreamt it
That is a hell of a group for a muzzleloader tom

I've Had Several with 20" Barrels, They Where All Blued And Youth Stocked[12 5/8 LOP}.I Don't Think Remington Ever Made a Full sized Stocked 20" Gun. I've owened 8-10 And The All Have Shot Well. But as Tom Has Said, They To Be Full taken Apart To Be Cleaned..

That's some real nice shooting!
I just picked a 700ml-SS last month with intentions of doing a smokeless conversion but after looking the Remington over I think I may shoot it for a while in factory form, I'm hoping for some good things from this muzzleloader.

The 700ML is the most accurate muzzleloader I've ever owned or fired. It will shoot a .490 patched round balls over 80 grains of Pyrodex or 3f GOEX into one hole at 50 yards. The T/C Cheap Shots also shoot great over 80 grains of 3f GOEX.
I don't think they are hard to clean.

I don't think they are hard to clean.
Not hard to clean...just time consuming. But maybe hard to someone who doesnt regularly take guns apart.

I appreciate you guys imput. I am looking at both a blued one and a stainless model they are both 50 cal .The stainless one appears to be converted to 209 primer and the blued one stock ignition. Which is preferabble and why? I have plenty of reg BP and some pyro but I like BP best. Magnum Man

The conversion in the link below will take care of most of the blowback, and will solve having to take the bolt apart to clean. It's $90 shipped, takes less than an hour to install, and comes with a new breechplug with removable ventliner. It is the bomb! I'll tell you my experience on my "conversion"
My gun started out the #11 caps and when I first got it I went to the range to work up some loads...while shooting I noticed a bit of hesitance between the time the trigger broke to when the gun fired...I didnt like that.
Now the accuracy was there, just I didnt like the hesitance.
Anyway I then went ahead and grabbed a small drill bit and opened up the #11 a bit more and it helped but now I was getting some spray back.....didnt like that either.
So after seeing that they offered a conversion to a #209 shotgun primer I thought that would do the trick.
I ordered one and the next time I went to the range I was much much happier.
Now I cant tell you if my groups tightened after I installed it because I found my current load after I got the #209 but I would think so.

If you liked that regular 209 conversion, this new one would make your year. I have four of them, it comes with a true firing pin not a spring plunger. It seals out almost all the blowback, and the pain the butt taking the bolt apart is solved.

No problem, glad to help. If Remington had put this conversion on when the guns left the factory, nobody would have bought anything else, and nobody would have ever sold the one they bought.
