It is a SAAMI spec cartridge and is factory loaded by Nosler.

Savage makes a couple of rifles chambered in this cartridge.

Others may as well.

I knew about the Savage F Class rifles

But, just because Nolser loads for it, does not mean it is a SAAMI spec round,IMHO.

Do a search and you'll see that it is in fact a SAAMI spec round.

Why wait for Remington? If you want a 6.5-284, there's a bunch of gunsmiths out there who could bolt one together for you real quick and easy, and the custom route would get you a better barrel anyway.

Agree, it would be a nice rifle...

Yep, since they don't, have one built, you'll be WAY happier in the long run anyway....

Where have you seen SAAMI spec for the 6.5x284?

I talked to Nosler a year ago when they started offering factory ammo about the pressures and specs`, and was told the tech that answered the phone didn`t have the numbers avialable at the moment but was sure they were CIP standard.
Norma has sponsored it in Europe but I don`t believe anyone has picked it up here and pressed SAAMI for admitance yet.

IIRC, I read in Cartridges of the World that CIP and SAAMI have reciprical (for lack of a better word) agreement, so if it's approved by CIP it is as well for SAAMI.

I've seen dozens of references to the effect of the 6.5x284 being a SAAMI spec cartridge but I have never seen the actual SAAMI specs because I don't have access to the entire SAAMI website.
You may very well be correct and I'll try to make some calls tomorrow and get a definitive answer from someone.
