I just had 5 boxes of Win 30-06 150 gr Power Points drop into my lap (wow, was that painful!). The guy said, "You'll never need anything else!"
I'm wondering, where do the Power Points fall on the fast-opening, quick-killing vs. slow-opening, full penetration scale? More like a ballistic tip, or more like a TSX?
I'm hunting antelope in Wyoming and elk in Nevada (I hope) next year...will this do the job for both?
Thanks, Czech1022

Neither sorta inbetween. It's a pretty stout bullet as far as cup and cores go.I'd use that load on a elk anyday.Taken acouple moose with 150 PP outta a 300 Win.Never any issues.Good ammo

I really like the Power Point among the cup and cores.
The 150 grain is great for deer and worked great on the one elk I shot with it [.308 Win].
Most folks would probably encourage you to use 180's for elk these days.
FWIW I use 180 grain Bearclaws or Nosler Partitions depending on what the rifle likes.

First elk I ever saw killed was shot with the 150 PP from a 30/06 at about 350 yards...it killed him better than it should have by conventional wisdom today..... Chest hit, he just withered.....

under rated. I use alot of them. .224 64 gr. PP for deer works good for me.

Winchester Power Points have been around a long time ...My experience with the 150 Power Point Plus in the 30-06 has been good when used on deer, antelope and coyotes..never tried them on Elk and bigger game....

They work well at .30-06 velocities. The only failures that I have seen were with a .270 WSM using the 150 grain PowerPoints. Might have just been a bad batch of bullets.
