I think they were made mostly as a 375 H&H action. Depending on what caliber you wish to build choose a builder who knows magazine/follower/rail geometry.

This one is already built. Its in .416. Mcmmillan classic shaped stock and what looks to be NECG barrel band, front and rear sights.
I am wondering what the thing is worth?
To the best of my knowledge it hasnt been fired and it is in 100% condition.

I had very peripheral experience with a custom .375 some years back. At that time(circa 1999), there wasn't a lot of choices in true magnum length square bridge actions. IIRC, the actions were made in Korea, they had a 2 position safety, and a mediocre trigger.

That rifle was extensively customized- fab wood, 1/4 rib, engraving, pivot mounts, 3 pos safety, new trigger, premium bbl, re contoured action, express sights etc. I don't recall ever shooting it, but at the time the customer felt it was a good enough action to put a lot of hard earned money into.

What's one worth today? I have no idea. IMHO, someone else's custom rifle is worth about 60% of replacement cost.

ymmv

IIRC these were Bauska actions, imported from Korea (?) by Bauska in Kalispell. They were advertised maybe 10-15 years ago as a true bridged Mauser magnum action. Didn't know that McMillan used them but don't see why they wouldn't have. They were fairly expensive back then but not horribly so. They weren't advertised very long (like a year or two) if memory serves.

They weren't true European Mausers so I'd figure them as a US action, like a 700 Rem, and go from there as to whatever was done to them , quality of components and workmanship, and such.
I think urban redneck gave a pretty good idea as a ballpark way of looking at it.
But, if it was made up by Gale McMillan it would be worth a look as to buying it. He had a very good reputation for workmanship.
