All of these were taken while driving (safely) - these are the successful shots - not the ones of floor-boards, telephone wires, and horizons slanted to 45*.

That third photo is a loooooong road. And very straight.

Great photos - thank you for sharing.

Cool shots, I like the composition of #2 - the clouds are great and add some nice movement to the scene.

#3... Bbrrrr!! You really captured the desolation on this one. That reminds me of Fargo, ND, if you took the hills out and added more snow. lol. Where was it taken?

If you were taking photographs while driving you were not driving safely.

Truly great landscape photographs should be made with a view camera anyway.

I most like the B&W clouds in the second. I think the conversion was a good choice for #2.

Oh, please. Can you drink a soda or cup of coffee while driving? Can you steer with one hand? I kept the camera on the seat beside me. I could grab it without taking my eyes off the road, point it at the subject, and shoot away. Some shots were acceptable - many were not.

Here's a before and after shot.

Really? Post some of yours. The best camera is the one in your hands.

#1 was taken on Hwy 287, traveling north towards Ennis, MT.

#2 was taken on I 86 between Pocatello and Twin Falls, ID.

I think #3 was taken on I 15 between Dillon, MT and Idaho Falls, ID.

not because of what I can do. Rather, because of perspective and focus control. The best camera for landscape photography sits on a tripod!

Definitely steadier than hand-held, bouncing down the freeway at 70 mph.

Yes! I can't imagine how many of those are sitting unused in closets and attics around the country. Fine equipment there.

The following photo is a digital copy taken with a 5 mp point and shoot camera of an 8x10 print from a 35mm negative. I didn't have a scanner at the time. Try it!
