First time I have posted here so bear with me if this is an old topic.
I have a Nikon F100 and N90 with several lenses. I have a nice point and shoot digital that I like but I want to get back to my "SLR" days with the convenience of digital imaging.
Question one: What is the basic Nikon that will accept my old lenses?
Question two: Will my automatic flash units work with the digitals?
Thanks in advance.

I used to shoot the N90 a lot during my film days and the feel to me is very similar to the feel of the D-90 or the D-7000. As for which lenses will work with which bodies, Nikon lists the lenses that are compatible with which bodies on their website. Some will work but with limitations that may or may not matter. Same with the flashes. I will often tell people to call Joel up at Camera Land to get more information and this is a perfect time to do so. You will find that people who have been in the business for many years will be very familiar with the pluses and minuses of converting to digital. You will eventually want to switch your lenses to those that are optimized for digital.

To my Nikon film camera/lens set I have added a mint D200 ($550) which accepts all my lenses and also works w/ my SB800 flash units.

This

shows lens compatibility.

The link above hopefully is accurate in terms of information. When I was searching for a DSLR camera, I wanted a Nikon that I could use my old manual focus AI lenses, but I could never get reliable information and I wasn't going to spend $1000 or more just to find out. So, I bought into the Sony family.

Nikon D200 is the way to go, they're down below $500 now.
