Looking into building a 6BR for a varmint and predator rifle and wonder what are the best choices for powders to push 70 to 85 grain bullets for good accuracy and velocity. Also should I use SR magnum primers or will standards get the job done Thanks

Varget and RL15 are popular as is VV N140, I'm sure there are others!

Have had good luck with VV 135 on the light bullets...when I could not get it, I started loading Reloader 10 with 60gr Sierra HPs and Remington 7 1/2 primers...works great..

I have varget and tac out of whats listed. I plan on shooting 70 BTs if it will group them as I have a bunch. Can anybody give me some loads and speeds I can expect with those powders

H-322 is never wrong either, or anything around that speed, VV-133, AA-2230, AA-2460, etc.

I shoot the 105's out of mine and use varget & H4895 with those. For the primers just buy as many CCI450's as you can find. Those are pretty much the standard 6mmBR primers, they have thicker cups than the non-magnum primers and will handle the pressures better. CCI BR4's are basically the match version of CCI450's and work well too, though most just use the 450's. All the 6mmBR data you could ever want here: http://www.6mmbr.com/6mmbr.html

National Benchrest Director, Gene Harwood sat a World Record a few years back with his 6 BR shooting H335 with his own 60g bullets @ 3700 fps out of a 24" barrel in a 1-14 twist barrel.
I copied his loads after a severe scolding from him on the squirrel fields, and my first outing had the 60g Sierra shooting at 3550 into groups in the high 1's out of a 20" barrel. This short barrel proved very deadly on jack rabbits out to 400 yards with the 60's at 3550.
Over the years, I shot a lot of H335 with bullet weights from 55g-68g with tiny bug hole accuracy.
Now, I am shooting a 27" 6 BR in a 1-12 twist shooting the 55g Noslers at 3900 fps+ and groups are in the 3/4" area at 300 yards using AA2230, Lapua brass, and 7 1/2 primers, bullets jamming the lands on a zero freebore throat.
H322 does well in the 6BR with the light weights, but velocity is about 150-200 fps slower.
The 60g Sierra HP is a fantastic coyote bullet in particular along with jack rabbits-p. dogs.
Best accuracy with the H335 and the AA2230 is right up at the top of the pressure curve for that particular rifle with what ever bullet you are shooting.
I also got exceptional groups with the 75g V max with AA2230, out of this long barrel Lilja with zero freebore, velocity is simply unreal. 55's outperform the 68-75g bullets at 300 yards by a bunch in speed, wind drift, and bullet drop...not to mention group size.

For bullets at the lighter end of the scale: 4895 3031 335 748 Blc2 For heavier bullets: Varget Re15 4320 4064 There are a whole bunch of newer powders which are surely applicable but I've not tried them simply because there has been no need. GD
