I have a savage model 99 in .284 win with a redfield wide field low profile 3X9 scope. Since I got moved from South Dakota to Florida I have not used the weapon. Could anyone tell me what it's worth. I would dsay the condition is good for the age.serial number is 1158879 I believe it is an E model. Thanks

Its a 284, so it is worth a good amount. Pretty rare rifle in a 284. I have seen them sold for well north of $800. Never lower. Don't take less than $850 with the scope in my opinion.

"Good for the age" leaves a great deal to the imagination. If you can post pictures, you will get some much more specific opinions.

Wouldn't be an E, wasn't offered in that model. 99F or 99DL at a guess, look on the barrel to see if it says 99F or 99M.

No apology needed. I thought it told a nice story.

Here's my gun.

Here's what it does.

It sold me! winkgrin

Good, honest hunting rifle. Extremely similar to the first 99 I hunted with back in '79 - it was also a 99C in 284.

Fireball2, I've had that 99 for 20 years. Hunted with it for years when I was stationed in South Dakota. I'm in Florida now and was thinking of putting on up for sale to buy a AR15. Just didn't know what to ask for it. Thought this would be the place to get a realistic and fair price

Just wondering how it worked for you.
