FYI to anyone interested: Went browsing in Cabella's in Bristol, VA. And found several, but all overpriced. At the end of the row there was 1895 #5953, D&T'ed, stock revarnished sometime in the past I believe, slight tendency to lever drop, but otherwise seemed OK. Action smooth. I forget what they were asking but under 2K I think.

It is there! I was late to take my wife to the doctor's office and just handled it and left...couldn't measure the barrel but it looked like 20" or perhaps 22". If I can, I'll get back there in the next several days and get a better look, take some pictures.

I have been in a number of Cabelas where they had guns that were not on the site. I think they only make the site if they sit around for awhile. My guess.
That said, I have snagged a few deals from them. One was a really nice post war R in 250 with Redfield scope for $450.

No saddle ring. I hope to get back tomorrow to get a better look, check the sights, muzzle crown, bore. Had it not been D&T'd I'd have bought it if they would talk price.

Just letting you know guy's. I talk to the guy at Cabela's about the 95 and he told me it was the rifle with a 26" barrel. I didn't ask about the price they were asking.

Didn't look like 26" to me, but I only had a moment with it before I had to leave the store...will check it out again tomorrow.
