Is that a Q32 Plutonium space modulator hanging on the end? Looks like a Cutts Compensator. Collectible in its own right. Also appears to have a compass in the comb of the stock. Cutting edge stuff circa 1947. Actually, I don't think it's all that bad...

Unless the thing shoots MOA, I'd probably pass. Not greatly fond of compasses in the stock or side mount scopes. Better EG's in 300 out there for that price.

I was at Cabelas Sunday, and they had 4 on the used rack in a lot worse shape, for $499.oo a piece.

The side mount is a Griffin and Howe ,the scope is a Lyman Challenger . Do you guys know anything about them ? Thanks Tom

the mount's likely worth about as much as the gun is if separated... probably $200 each...
Tom... keep looking... or if you really want a 300 EG, I have a premo nice one I will sell you... even has better than average wood on it.
