Saw one in a local shop today, had the (old style?) flat backed receiver, a long action with a different bolt and shot mag well(blind mag). Wood stock(not monte carlo) and an old Bushnell Sportview 3-9x32. Looked like an older style of iron sights to me. Any idea of it's age/worth in decent condition(75-80%)?
I've not seen one like this before, but I'm no expert...did they make many 110's in .300 Sav?

I went through the catalogs from 1958 - 1985 and never saw one year they chambered a 110 in 300 Sav, wondering if someone rebarreled it. If it's a long action in 300 Sav then it's a good guess that it was.
A serial number would tell more.

I think they made a run of some in the early 90's - same time they made some in 250 Savage. Then there was the 50th Anniversary edition in 2009 - of which you are definitely NOT talking about.
Don't know of any others. Serial number would help us pin it down to the year.

Calhoun is right on the money, 250 & 300 were both offered in 1993, I bought a 250 (110J) couple of months ago with the idea of upgrading the trigger, changed the stock out with one of newer savage's, the stock went smoothly, but changing out the trigger was a nightmare, wished I had bought the "CLASSIC" which are less than 700.

This guy did an awesome job with his trigger video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evfvT70togE

Hey CBT: Mid 90's, I got a 110 WLE .300 Savage, 2X grade wood, 22" barrel, no sites, plastic trigger guard, rubber butt. It's D&T for scope. MC stock/fluted comb. Internal loading/no floor plate. Can't find paper when I got it. Never been fired!!
Also a 110 .300 Savage w/the Indian logo on rear stock. 22"bbl. ( I can't find it to confirm other data about it.) Still in box. Never fired. The Mums has a lot of cloth, crafts, materials, and projects displayed & stashed all over this place, we only have narrow paths to get to other areas thru all this jungle & maze !!! If I find it, will post it.

I bought a wood-stocked, Monte Carlo 110 in .300 Savage about a year ago off of Gunbroker. It has a 22" barrel with iron sites. I'm not sure in what year it was made. I installed a 4X Leupold on Weaver bases and rings. I've only fired it a few times, with 180-grain Power Point handloads, but it is more than adequately accurate for deer and black bear and any other animal for which you'd normally use a .300 Savage.
I'd like to shoot a white-tailed buck with it some time.
Keep your gun-hand ready and your eyes peeled.

I believe Savage offered the 110 series in .300 Savage a couple of times over the past few years. A real sleeper, they show up every now and then on GB and usually sit for awhile. They offered the 14 Classic in 300 Savage and discontinued just a couple of years ago.

Have to see what work looks like going into January, if I can snag it for a good enough price, I'll post pics.

I bought a 1991 Savage 110 WLE in 250-3000 NIB in 2005, paid $435 for it. Took off the plastic sights and filled the holes with set screws. I want to replace the plastic trigger guard with a steel version. Any recommednations as to where to find a steel trigger guard? PS: It has a beautifull highly figured piece of walnut on the gun.

There is a 110WLE in 7X57MM in my area for sale and has been there for awhile. They do have nice wood on them.

Jericho:
I have one ( someplace ) in 7x57 Mauser too. Haven't fired it yet. Think barrel is 24", not 22". I put a SAVAGE Mdl.3833, 3-8X scope on it. Never did sight it in. Plan to someday.

I own one of those 300 Savage 50th Anniversary rifles. It's definitely a short action.
