Does anyone have experience with these as a year round 1/2 ton tire ?

That's all I run after my factory tires wear out. I LOVE them. They are great for year round use. Not a super aggressive tread, but still great in the snow. Very quiet and smooth too. I've got 27,000 on them and the tread is just a little over 1/2 gone. IMHO they are the best thing since sliced bread... Can't go wrong with them ..

I agree. The last 3 sets I have owned have been the LTX and they wear like iron and have very good traction.

Had them on my Silverado and have them on both of my Tacomas and they are a great tire...you get stupid mileage out of these tires.

They ain't cheap but they are excellent.

LTX at2 are what I have been running on a 4x4 Tundra. Very quiet on the road, excellent handling and ride, long-wearing.

Those are my winter tires just put them on... Funny you look at them they dont look like they would be good in snow cause there not aggressive looking...But they go thru the snow pretty good and good on ice to......

What's the ply rating on them?

Had a set of P265/70/17 that came as original factory tires on a 2010 model Ford F-150 4-door cab 4x4.
That set lasted 74,000 miles and could have gone a little longer.
Was doing primarily highway with about 10-20 miles a day on dirt roads with quite a bit of washboard type stuff, thru cattle guards, etc.
Have done real well in the mud,snow,etc. - Suprisingly well .
I put another set set on, and have about 26,000 mi on those. Don't even really look worn.
Good smooth,quite ride on the highway as well.
They are pricey, but good enough that I bought another set.

Mine are 10 ply. I do like them on my 08 Tundra.

I haven't had a set in quite a while but they are all I use to run here at the ranch in a 10-ply. Never ever had flats & I ran over a ton of Mesquite & Prickly Pear.

Now my new Ford F250 SuperCrew 4x4 Diesel I bought last week has a new set of them in 10-ply from the Ford Factory. I had forgotten how smooth & quite they ride! They are OK in the mud, but work great in sand & ice.

And they don't wear out over night like the BF Goodridge all terrains do.

I must be one if the few that has had a less than stellar experience with them. I tried a set on my Cummins and couldn't get them to balance. They also felt very mushy (E load range) even with 80 psi in front and 60 rear. My tire store took them back and I put a set of Hankooks on. Night and day difference. I had run Bridgestone Revo 2's before trying the LTX 2's, and the Hankooks outperform both. Almost 40 k on them and they look like they'll easily do 50.

Same here for thorns.
Best wet weather tires I have run.
Just expensive, but worth it.

Used to be a big Michelin fan despite the price. Lately i have been having trouble with this particular tire on my pick ups and other Michelin tires on the rest of my vechiles. They are supposed to be cut and chip but they are cutting and chipping. Had the Michelin rep tell me that they were not designed for the type of dirt roads that we have here in South Texas. Funny thing is the roads have not changed in the last 15 years that I have been running these tires. When they were good you couldnt beat them for mileage that you got out of them.
