If this is in an area that is unlikely to have peoples pet cats around I used to take a milk crate put it on its side with a 330 in front of it and whatever the bait of choice was inside the milk crate so they can only get at it by going through the trap. It was very effective. I used tuna fish cans with a bunch of holes poked in the top so they could not get anything out of it but juice and would work at it long enough to set the trap off if they hadn't already. You can also take the lid off the can empty it and fill it with whatever bait you want then tape/solder/epoxy the lid back on with the holes in it.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. Theodore Roosevelt
