I am gearing up to play with a 45/70 Marlin 1895 SBL and am trying to locate a source of Remington 405 grain projectiles. Does anyone know of such a source?
Many thanks!

Seems like everyone in Idaho and Utah and most online vendors are out down here. I ended up just going with the hornady 350g flat point and it shoots well.

I've used the remmie 405 in my 45-70 and it shoots well. The 400 grain Speer works better for me.

The round nose 350 Hornady is excellent. Cast boolits are even better.

I don't know where all the Rem 405gn bulk bullets went, but they sure dried up here in Ont. 350gn Horns are a good bullet but I wish the 405s were still available.

If you plan on shooting the. 45/70 much, casting your own bullets is the only way to go. I learned that the hard way.

Again +1 on the Speer. One might also purchase a mold and roll his own.
