I don't believe its a collector winny but I've been really curious about one of these. I've only seen one pic on a forum but i can't remember where and ive tried searching for info on them and haven't found much of anything. IIRC they look like a mini Featherweight. Id really like to learn more about them; are they reliable? Accurate? Affordable? I have a feeling they may have been made in Mirouku. I want to pick one up if i can find one but they seem really hard to come by.
Can anyone give me some info on the Winchester Wildcat 22 bolt rifle and/or know where i could buy one? Thanks in advance.

Russian-made I think; relabelled from the TOZ-78. Sporter and heavy weight versions. Discontinued. People who have them seem to love them. No idea where to get one other than auction sites and classifieds.

Thanks for the info Dub. I've looked quite a bit on GB and forum classifieds but still haven't seen a single one for sale. Must be because, like you said, guys that have em like em. It'll just be one of them rifles ill have to get lucky and jump on it when opportunity presents itself.

Dub is correct. They were introduced at the 2006 SHOT Show; I don't know how long they remained in the catalog. I have a Russian TOZ and it's a very good .22 boltgun. The Winchesters had nicer wood and finish.

I didn't realize they were so new. Even better, is your TOZ pretty accurate? Functions well? Thanks

I'm almost embarrassed for my other .22's that a homely piece of Russian stained wood and steel (and it IS homely) shoots so well with everything from Colibris to high velocity ammo.

It has a good trigger (adjustable on mine, not sure if the Wildcat is the same) and very good open sights. I say good sights because I can actually see them with my aging eyes and the rotating leaf rear is on with most high velocity ammo I've tried. It was worth the $150 I spent... But it really is ugly, almost humorously so. The Winchester had much better wood and metal, but I doubt it shot any better, and I don't remember if it had the same useable sights as the TOZ.

I remember thinking when CDNN had the Wildcats on closeout that it would be worthwhile to pick one up, but I stumbled on the TOZ first.
