Only shoepeg corn, sprinkled with a little slamola powder to toughen, and a few drops of anise. Great for tipping kokanee flies .

Corn? Really? You guys don't know nothin' about catchin' trout. I'm an expert. A marshmallow topped with a single red Pautzke Ball O' Fire will out fish corn any day of the week.

All I can say is Velveta cheese. The bigger the chunk the bigger the trout. The great thing is what you don't use for bait you eat as a snack.....

Don't ask how I figured this out, but there is an oxbow lake near Portland, OR that has a lot of browns in it. When the water is being pumped into the lake from the river, you can slay trout with Pillsbury Biscuit dough under a bobber. Cut a small strip and pinch it on a #6 bait-holder hook and chuck it toward the water pumps.

Night Crawler, shopeg white corn(have use yellow also) and colored marshmellows, caught many a dead trout on that. Velveta cheese works, and so dose the dough balls with some ansine oil on them(like a cheap power bait).
I think it's more of keeping your bait off the bottom and more in the fishes sight, but it works.
