If any of you North/MidWest guys that like to bass fish that have any interest in fishing the Southeast let's hook up and swap out some great spring/summer fishing for some fall hunting (deer, mule deer, antelope, etc.). We have great bass fishing in the Southeast but sorta poor hunting with regards to size and numbers where I live. As with hunting, fishing is always a gamble but I've been known to hammer the fish in the head; I can't promise you a 5+lb bass but I can tell you this, I'll have you all over areas that produce 5+lb bass and better, using proven techniques to get them to bite. Just friendly swap/swap type stuff. Just thought I'd at least offer.

I fish and know Guntersville pretty dad'gum well. Most any 3 day weekend I catch 50 to 150 bass and have 20 or so in the 3 to 5lb range. I usually always latch onto one or two in the 5 to 8lb range...

I also fish Wedowee (Lake RL Harris), Lake Weiss, Lake Neely Henry (though it is FAR from my strong suit), Lake Logan Martin, Lake Guntersville, Lake West Point, etc...

I figured one of those pics would be from Guntersville. I'm heading to Tanner for work at the end of February. I may leave a day or two early and see what's biting on Guntersville in February.

That should still be a GREAT RATTLE BAIT bite up there, might even get into some excellent jerk bait bites after the morning top water fades out. Good luck!

I don't have much in the way of hunting opportunities, other than hogs, but if you every want to look at some different water, I know Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend pretty well.

Have you tried looking at states that sell tags over the counter? My state, Washington, does this. Its expensive for an out-of-state hunter, but if you wanted to pay for the tags, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.
