Because certain purist "collectors" here with a fetish for un-altered 99's, regardless of the practical benefits of the alteration, frown severely upon such alterations.

I get that. It still doesn't explain why the buyer would be shunned. Certainly the seller. But certainly not by me. This is a real beauty in it's own right and is certainly an original.

Popularity is for sheep and is over-rated. I'd rather be original with cool stuff.
