One sold today for $610 on ebay. Wow!
Holy Mackerel! I need to sell the one I have for a grand or so.
P.T. Barnum said it best...there is a sucker born every minute.
The Zeiss has a long tube allowing to fit on long actions. The Leupold does not. If you want a fixed four on a CZ 550 magnum action, or on any .416 Rigby sized actions, the Zeiss is the way to go. This is what I believe drove the buyer to this extreme price.
A guy had Zeiss Conquest 1,8-5.5x38 in box for $400. Over six hundred for 4x32?
Well, used car salesman have saying there is seat for every ass.
Not many more making a fixed 4 anymore.
just looked on EBay at the prices folks are asking for the conquests that are listed........used prices are more than they were new......crazy
I have one sitting in my safe. Maybe I should list it.
Anyone wants to sell one (at a reasonable price
) lemme know!
Bob, what do you consider to be "reasonable"?
I bought one from a LGS. This thread reminded me that I had it. (grin)
I just looked through it and it definitely has the "wow" factor.
JS
JS: They are pretty danged good!
Wonder what the chances are of Doug being able to get Zeiss to do a batch run of them for Cameraland (offering them to campfire members first of course) I know I would be speed dialing him today to place my order.
GreggH
Gregg they are listed on the website as unavailable. The world is mostly variable crazy except for a few cranks (like us). Dunno if they would do it.
You might ask Doug(?). I have been lucky to buy a pair the last 2-3 months.
