My best mask idiot thus far,, lone guy early 20's on a kayak 200 yards out on Norfork Lake, masked up.
No one anywhere near him, maybe he thought a fish could give him covid, or a duck could fly over and ''covid him''.

I seen one yesterday. Walking alone down the street. She then turned into a crowded restaurant where she was the only person wearing a mask. Social distancing…Pffft ! The GD Yankees are showing up down here. She was obviously one of the granola crunch types the Okeefenokee attracts. Educated far beyond her intelligence.

Mask wearing is going up again here on the Olympic Penninsula. I'm with Smokepole in that I don't care what they do as long as they don't start trying to force the rest of us to knuckle under to their fads. Surprising number of people in Walmart etc. wearing masks, maybe 5-10%.

How the hell do you swim in a mask?

Because of impaired lungs, I wear them when feeding livestock in the barn. Hay was exceptionally dry last year. Last year, I had to wear one when outside because of all the smoke from wildfires. That could be driving into town to go grocery shopping.. Almost any doctor's office or medical facility requires them. No exceptions. If you don't wear them you don't get in.

Any private business can require them if they wish. It is up to you if you choose to patronize them. Arguing with the owners does no good except make you look like a fool.

You can get dust masks that seal up well now. They have a thin but wide gasket that really works, and an exhaust valve. I get them at Home Depot, but I'm sure you can find them elsewhere. Milwaukee is the brand I have.

If I see someone wearing these masks while doing something dusty, they get a pass. Likewise, if they're out in thick smoke like we had here last summer. Any other kind of mask, and I consider that a uniform.

Just got home from Fleet Farm. Mask count was two. Both women in their 60's. One thin and frail looking, the other way past fat, and covered in tattoos.

The craziest one that I saw was shortly after the peak of the Covid craze. A woman that looked to be taking a lunch break sitting in her car alone in a park with few others cars and taking her mask down to hit a cigarette exhale and pull the mask back up.

I can answer that. I was in the tattoo chair last month. While I was waiting, a couple walked in, both wearing masks. So, yep, they wear them even at the tattoo parlor. As I was leaving, I saw the gal laying down getting tattooed by the artist who was not wearing a mask. You can’t make this schit up.

In May 2020 I traveled to Birmingham for a funeral. The burial was at a huge cemetery. There were 60-70 people at the service, all white, zero masks, no distancing.

Right next to us there was another burial going on, about the same number of people, all black, every person wearing a mask. I saw a few looking over at our group, and the looks on their faces were all "look at those crazy white people."

But like I said if someone I don't know wants to wear a mask, I figure it's none of my concern. YMMV.

Best one I saw was in the grocery store parking lot. A “Brutha” with a huge Santa Clause beard was wearing a mask which was basically hugging his beard about 6” away from his mouth just covering about a 6” layer of Velcro Hair out in front of his mouth. The VA STILL requires them. I went in recently to turn in a broken hearing aid, and had to put one on to walk 10 feet to the desk and hand them the thing. Two weeks later, when I picked up the replacement, I had to don one to go see the audiologist. I refrained from asking the apparently intelligent doctor if she thought a leaky, ill-fitting, paper mask will stop a nanometer-sized virus, but I really wanted to.

I got tested again for covid about a month ago. Big fat black nurse shoved those swabs up my nose that it felt like she was trying to spear my brain. I've had the swabs maybe a dozen times now and while they're uncomfortable as hell, only old Aunt Jemima ever hurt me. Was it deliberate? I think so.

I had to have it done before I could start my chemo. Naturally one has to wear a mask while inside the building so I dutifully put mine on and go through the routine. Since the beginning, I've gotten friendly with the two nurses and when they're not swamped with patients we get to talk. We three all agree the masks are totally useless. Even my oncologist takes his mask off while with me in the little room where he does his exams discusses how the treatment is coming along. He also agree the masks are useless. It's somewhat rare these days to find an honest doc when it comes to the masks.

FWIW, I've always refused to wear the mask ever since the beginning of the covid fiasco. I have yet to get sick with covid.

a couple days ago I was walking to get a hamburger. it was 102 degrees outside, some yahoo was waving a pay day lending sign dressed in an uncle sam costume, wearing a mask!!! I was like what in the actual hell?!?! I am convinced some people just want to mask up because they are afraid of being in public and the mask gives them a way to be anonymous .

I'm almost to Bozeman MT. Have crossed 8 states if my home state of Louisiana is counted. 1890 miles so far. Only one damn place required a mask, the Little Bighorn Battlefield Visitors Center. Looks to me like west of the Mississippi River people are through with masks and not worrying about the Corona 19. I guess Fauci and Gates are going to have to juice up another virus. Back in the Spring of 2021 we still had mask mandates for commercial establishments. It had been about a year and my guys inside wouldn't wear masks and I wasn't going to make them wear them either. However, I did try to get them to wear them if the customers were wearing them and we didn't know them. I didn't want to get in trouble with the health dept. You never know what .gov might do. About 80% of our customers were not wearing them, so I didn't worry too much.

One day we had a showroom full of people and most people were not wearing masks. From my office, I hear a lady say, "Wow, it must be nice not to have to wear a mask at work". After she was done inside, I see her walking out to the stone yard and she's double masked. She got her stuff and got in her car, double masked, and drives off. 15 minutes later I get a call from the county health department threatening to fine me. I had a long talk with the guy and he explained that he was only doing his job and that he had to do so until the governor lifted the mandate. He didn't fine me, but just gave me a verbal warning. It was a $5000.00 fine. Even after the incident, I still had a hard time getting these guys to mask up. They were pretty good though if we had customers that we didn't know and were wearing them.

I’m extremely hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. Even with the aids I still have a difficult time trying cypher what is being said through a mask, especially the voices of women. I need to see their lips and face.

When I go to the Dr everyone is wearing a mask, I understand very little of what is being said. When they ask me questions, I usually just stare at them and shake my head. They repeat, move closer and repeat, no response from me. They finally get it, pull their mask down so we can converse.

When my doctor enters the room, he automatically pulls his mask down as he knows I won’t talk to him through one.

Yeah, one of my guys is hard of hearing and won't wear his hearing aids. He has a tough time understanding people who are wearing a mask. It's funny because he'll cop an attitude and tell them to take it off. We get a kick out of it and we tell him that he's just a cranky old guy.

Last Dec I saw a guy in Cancun wearing one while he was swimming in the ocean alone. Also, a lib mom double masked her kids with face shields before they got on the plane. She gave me a nasty look while I snapchatted her. Don't think she liked my mask under my chin.
