I enjoy both channels, Garand Thumb especially.. GT content is definitely geared towards a younger audience but if you can get past that, he has some great stuff.
What's not to like about Garand Thumb? He mixes humor with guns. Shoots a lot of ammo. One of the few things on youtube I watch. Grouchy, miserable old bastards probably don't like him much though.
I liked Harrell okay, it’s just that he never missed an opportunity to take twenty minutes to say what could have been said in two. I don’t think I ever made it through one of his videos without skipping ahead or just losing interest and leaving before he got to the point.
I was misdiagnosed with cancer last year. Quite a relief not to have to deal with it. The actual diagnosis has not been good, but I can't imagine its anywhere near what pancreatic cancer is like.
That was a very good target approximation and dog food manufacturing. Had to fast forward as usual. Nearly puked at the 115 grain Federal. But he redeemed himself somewhat with the Hornady. Gold Dot 124+ P would have been more authentic. That woulda showed them! Too bad they don't make those in 40.......
Damn--Paul looks bad. Love his videos. I'm not so sure I'll watch his brother.
I tried once or twice, but his brother is no better at filling his shoes than if you picked a random person from the local range and asked him to do so. Sorry, Paul. Wishing you the best.
That said, the meat target is stupid and so is anybody that believes it has any real bearing.
The US Military used to test ammo by hanging up dead pigs and goats and shooting them. It tells you what it tells you.
Shooting a dead animal is much different than shooting butchered meat. Still, it doesn't tell us much.
The average male is 72% water. When we butcher an animal, we get rid of the organs, we skin it, and we drain the blood. The carcass goes past rigor mortis, and then begins to age. We then cut connective tissue, fascia, etc from the meat.
Saying a steak or a roast is a good approximation of a living human being neglects common sense, science, and critical thinking. As you said, it tells what it tells; not much.

Who are we talking about? Im missing something.....

I like them both for different reasons. Paul Harrel in my opinion was a very good teacher for what he provided, and he did deliver the biggest "up yours" I've ever witnessed in his rebuttal video. Garand Thumb on the other hand is a different animal completely. I really like his introduction montages in fact the funniest one I've ever seen is for his 4-gage shotgun review... others are great as well. I appreciate Paul's dedication to practical knowledge as well as Garand Thumb's striving for entertaining mixed with some education / real-life demonstrations.
If you can't stand either even for a short moment I suppose that's your right but perhaps it's a cue to exercise some introspect and lighten up just a little (this is not directed at you, Stophel). Cheers, gents.
Wit, humor, fun are things that some here seem to have very little grasp of. I guess ending up old and bitter can do that to you. Both these guys made/make videos for entertainment that are fun to make and still give you info if you are willing to take it. Neither one of them are as serious about themselves as some of you make them out to be.
Fun with guns. Yes, most of us are able to do that and grasp the concept. Some though probably haven't seen fun in decades.
If you are looking for scientific data, get the [bleep] off youtube.
