With the first round tonight, hoping my team doesn't screw it up.
My top three ..
3. Tony Mandarich
2. Ryan Leaf
1. JaMarcus Russell
Who ya got?
1. Ryan Leaf
2. JaMarcus Russell
3. Steve Emtman
Mandarich certainly didn't take the NFL by storm, but I think he played for 8 years or so. Once he was moved to guard he seemed to find his place.
got to go with the LSU boy.....JaMarcus be the man when it comes to draft busts
JJ won't get the chance.
Janoris Jenkins is this year's JaMarcus...just wait till he gets paid....
got to go with the LSU boy.....JaMarcus be the man when it comes to draft busts
Now there's a true Homer, voting even for the busts who hail from La.
Gotta respect that.
I almost forgot Todd Marinovich.
Sad part about that is it had nothing to do with lack of talent. Just a kid that couldn't stop partying.
He could of been a Steve Young caliber QB...
Marinovich was rebelling against his oppressive father, cost him his career.
1. Ryan Leaf
2. Bryan Bosworth-less
3. JaMarcus Russel
4. David Carr
5. Todd Marinovich
Got to disagree with you on that one.
Vick certainly has some issues, (hopefully most of them are behind him for the dogs sake) but he delivers on the field.
Marinovich was rebelling against his oppressive father, cost him his career.
If you get a chance I highly recommend the ESPN documentary about Todd Marinovich. I believe its called "The Marinovich Project".
Ironically, his trouble wasn't with his dad, but I thought as much before watching the show.
I just hope the Raiders keep drafting the way they have been

Pretty much nailed it right there, with only the order possibly being open to debate.

Who ya got?
I think you nailed it. Of course, given my locale, I would reverse them.
Mandarich or Barry Sanders? And, we took Mandarich.
1. Ryan Leaf
1. JaMarcus Russel
1. Todd Marinovich
Vinny Testaverde or Cornelius Bennett...we took Vinny....and that list is a long one, unfortunately..
Here's some former Carolina Panthers - Tshimanga Biakabutuka, Rae Carruth.
1. Ryan Leaf
2. Bryan Bosworth-less
3. JaMarcus Russel
4. David Carr
5. Todd Marinovich
You definitely have the first two pegged.
Akili Smith by Cincinnati Bengals...now that I think about it most drafts the Bengals made in the 90's and early 2000's were a bust
Who WILL be the biggest draft bust of 2012?
Richardson
LMAO..........that's pretty funny, thanks for the chuckle!!
Probably not quite on par with some others' listed here but about:
- Ki-Jana Carter
- Rashaan Salaam
- Curtis Enis
I'll call your Archie and raise- gambling reference there- fellow OSU alum Art Schlichter for
Honorable Mention.
Not a Hall of Famer, but definitely not a bust. 46,000 plus yds and 275 TDs isn't bust material.
Damn it man
Ja Walrus Russel
Leaf
The Bust..er....Bozz
Tebow
He wuz for Tampa...
Vinny was an accumulator...no spectacular seasons....
True.....21 years in the league to accumulate, that's not a bust.
I like Vinny, great college qb, but he was a big game choke artist...

Yup, just think Barry Sanders to spell off Brett Favre's arm. It would have equated to several super bowls and fewer picks on the Gunslinger.

Carter tore his knee up, which is a little bit different from being a "bust" who just doesn't care or can't perform.

Mandarich, after being out of the league a couple of years, actually turned it around and became a 16-game starter for the Colts, in 1997, I think.

Favre-Sanders. Talk about a 1-2 punch! Would've been fun to watch.
Who WILL be the biggest draft bust of 2012?
Richardson
One way to see it ----
Where he's being taken - it's a bust. This isn't 1975 anymore. A team simply does NOT need a stud RB to be successful in the league anymore. A #4 pick should play and be effective longer than 4 or 5 years. That's what a RB gives you.
At #4 I want a player for a decade.
Richardson couldn't beat Ingram out at Alabama and Ingram didn't exactly light the NFL on fire last year either. Even with a great passing game to set up the run.
The "Boz" without a doubt. All hype no play......
I'm actually distantly related to Boz.
I'm actually distantly related to Boz.
Same haircut?
Yeah Boz was a bust, but he was better than Mandarich. That clown was probably the most overhyped 'athlete' of the 20th century.
The "Boz" without a doubt. All hype no play......
I disagree. He did hype himself up before he ever played in the NFL,but he was actually a pretty good LB before he got hurt and had to retire.
I can't hold getting ran over by arguably one of the best athletes of all time (Bo Jackson) against him either.
I guarantee you Jackson would have ran over Dick Butkus,Ray Lewis,or Junior Seau as well.
No - my grandmother is a Bosworth.
Mandarich - yeah but compared Jwalrus Russell, he doesn't look that bad.
Andre Ware has to be on the list. 4 years for a total of 83 passes and 5 TDs - TOTAL? Dude...
Yeah Andre Ware, forgot about that guy.
How about Gino Torretta? What a total clown and he won a Heismann too. The Vikes had him back in the day.
Yeah Boz was a bust, but he was better than Mandarich. That clown was probably the most overhyped 'athlete' of the 20th century.
Mandarich was definitely overhyped, but he did play 6 years in the NFL.
3 years with the Packers then 3 with the Colts, ended up starting 63 games in his career. Not exactly the dominant lineman he was touted to be, but 6 years in the league aint too shabby.
1. Ryan Leaf
2. JaMarcus Russell
3. Heath Shuler
4. Andre Ware
5. Tim Couch
My main problem with Mandarich is that he spent six years denying he was ever on 'roids. He was a shriveled up wimp at the end.
And it wasn't like other people were cautioned on the guy. #2 over all - SI called him the greatest talent/prospect of all time etc.
Understand why GB took him. I suspect Poe is going to be like that this year. MONSTER combine/work out guy but couldn't dominate consistently in Conference USA. Hardly a power conference.
I'd line this up with Cleveland Brown picks just for my bud 270 but since I like him, I'll only include one Browns pick.
Tim Couch - Cleveland QB(won't mention Brady Quinn)
Matt Leinart - Arizona QB
Carlos Rogers - Lions Receiver
Alex Smith - QB 49ers(last year was an anomaly. He still sucks)
Joey Harrington - QB Lions. The guy would throw a 5 yrd out on 3rd and 10 every time.
Got to disagree with you on that one.
Vick certainly has some issues, (hopefully most of them are behind him for the dogs sake) but he delivers on the field.
Vick has moments of greatness, followed by long bouts of poor decisions both on and off the field. Teams will keep him because he sells tickets. Mark my words, no team he ever plays with will ever be a serious contender.
Skins are finally getting a quality QB so I could care less how the rest of this thing goes as we have nada beyond pick 2 and RG3.
It's now or never for the Skins.
LOL,...RG3 will be the perfect pick to go along with the legacy of Gus Ferrote and Heath Shuler

You really think you have quality with Griffin? Hope that one don't come back to bite you on the ass
JaMarcus Russell How many Million $$$$ did he take Oakland for?
There sure has been a lot of them. Is it physicl, mental or character usually??
LOL,...RG3 will be the perfect pick to go along with the legacy of Gus Ferrote and Heath Shuler
That and my avatar are all I got brother. Well the Nats are shaping up as well. RG3 will prevail. You watch!!!
BTW getting really close on my land tract. Finally found what you have. Even bought some chestnut trees. For my Dads ranch but still.
Geo your man Trent is going to Cleveland. Talk about a waste.
Screw football, I want to hear about that tract of land.
You're a good dude BYC. I'd like to see you get a little slice of heaven.
1983 Kansas City Chefs.
Shoppin for a QB.
Elway was taken, but coulda had Jim Kelly.
Coulda had Dan Marino.
Picked Todd Blackledge.
Bonus point: After his 3-start NFL career, TB sucked as an announcer too!
The "Boz" without a doubt. All hype no play......
The Boz led the team in tackles his first two years, his shoulders gave away from the roids.
I'm actually distantly related to Boz.
Same haircut?
Yeah Boz was a bust, but he was better than Mandarich. That clown was probably the most overhyped 'athlete' of the 20th century.
I disagree about the Boz. It was his shoulders that let him down not his performance on the field. It is tough to feel sorry for him though because of the obnoxious persona he assumed.
Expat
Any offensive skill positions drafted from Penn State from the mid-90's on.
You guys are obviously forgetting Jeff George. Wish I could...
Jeff George could have starred in The Wizard of Oz
"If I only.......had a brain (heart, courage)

George had a hell of an arm. Unfortunately, he had a five cent head to go along with it.
