it's been a hot item and if they can use it to drive folks into their stores, there's a chance they might sell them a few other things.

Nah, that's not it. You order it delivered to the store for free shipping. Gets you in there anyway. They could just as easily restrict sales to "ship to store".

Update:
I placed an order for 2 boxes from Cabelas. They had a promo for free shipping on all orders but a limit of 1 of each item. So, I ordered 2 different items both of which they originally backordered. Here's an email I got this morning:



So, they do have some ammo now but the T-bolt mentioned in the OP isn't one of them.

I stopped at the new store in south Denver about two weeks ago and they had about 8 bricks of the Remingtons on the shelf. One per customer, I bought one brick, $26.Then two other guys grabbed all the rest and got on their phone to call their buddies to come and get them.

Around here mail order is about the only way to get 22s. I haven't seen any on the shelves in quite a while. Sportmans Warehouse has a policy of putting everything new out on Saturday morning and there's always a long line when they open the doors. If you haven't been in line for a long time, it's gone before you get in.

Got an email from them said order canceled sold out for season.
Didn't know they were seasonal runs!
