Anyone watch it last night, what did you think?
I thought it was pretty good
Posted By: MoBassMan Re: Better Call Saul - 02/09/15
Potential. I think everyone probably expects the next Breaking Bad, but doubt it delivers that. Hard to form much an opinion off one episode, but I like it so far.

A bit slow in the begianing I thought but got better! nice to see some of the cast from Breaking Bad in it!
Posted By: SShooterZ Re: Better Call Saul - 02/09/15
I DVRed it. Need to watch it tonight if I get a chance.

Hard to watch anything after Walking Dead.

I never watched Breaking Bad so it was all new to me

BB was supposed to be really good, but I never tried watching it either, as I've got school-age kids in the house. I'd like to check out the new show, but I didn't even watch The Walking Dead last night until the second showing. Watched Legend of the Superstitions, a show about the search for the Lost Dutchman's Mine. It started pretty slow. I hope it gets better.

Best I can tell, is this took place well before he became Saul in Breaking Bad. I assume he'll have more interaction with Mike (booth attendant), as he was his main man in BB.

I'm curious if it'll toggle between "real time" (him being in hiding), and the past?

Crap I missed it! Thank God for "On Demand"......
Posted By: MoBassMan Re: Better Call Saul - 02/09/15
I recommend BB to everyone, with one caveat - ironically - it's like a drug, in that you can't stop once you start.

Only watch it if you have time off work, or don't have to worry about waking up at a certain time. The wife and I spent way too many nights, saying to each other "just one more episode" (?), and suffering from lack of sleep the next day.

I think we watched the whole thing in 6-8 weeks. I wanna go back and take the time to watch it again, at some point in life. Maybe spend my Spring fishing nights at the lake house watching. Lots of nights it gets dark early, and there isn't much to do once fishing is done.

Watch your mailbox, I have the entire DVD set I'll send to you tomorrow or Wednesday.

I liked the first episode. I'm curios how the characters tie together. His name on the show is Jimmy McGill but he has the VHS of him as Saul. I thought maybe its his new identity but Mike and Tuco showed up and neither made it out of BB.

I really like Odenkirk as an actor. He was great in Fargo.

Thank you Scott!

I do not care for shows of this genre. That's just me, but I thought I'd offer the thought.

Lawyer off breaking bad got his own sitcom? Is he still as big a scumbag?
Posted By: rattler Re: Better Call Saul - 02/10/15
thanks for the heads up, after so monay years with Tivo it sucks not having a DVR and relying on my memory laugh last nights episode is on now with a new one after.....

heard people say they didnt like BB cause it showed a guy living large as a drug manufacturer....WTF guessing people stopped watching after half an episode if thats what they got out of it...course the same sort say SOA glorified criminals, not the show i watched though i suppose you could get that watching one or part of one episode...

just wish i could find some place to watch The Shield for free, didnt catch it while it was on TV and its not on Netflix.....

Same here, but watching both episodes tonight I might stick around for awhile.

Just watched it and am intrigued. Taping the second episode in a few minutes. It's a pre-quel to BB, BTW.

They must have pulled it out of rotation. I watched the whole series over again on netflix last summer.

Caught both of the first two episodes tonight...being a big Breaking Bad Fan, I am sure I'll enjoy this one...if nothing else, enjoy the guys showing up in it from the original Breaking Bad... Tuco, Mike...and some of Tuco's Boys...

Comedy noir. Like it so far, gonna be hard on the writers.

Watched the 2nd episode today, I'm liking this show a lot
Posted By: Ghostinthemachine Re: Better Call Saul - 02/11/15
I'm still on the fence with this thing.

I'll keep watching.
Posted By: byc Re: Better Call Saul - 02/11/15
Watched the back-to-back opening episodes last night. I thought it started out great. Seems to have both a comedic and serious side. More of a satire to me.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: Better Call Saul - 02/11/15
I Tivo'd both episodes, but haven't had a chance to watch them yet.
Posted By: Scotty Re: Better Call Saul - 02/11/15
I recorder the first two episodes. Sounds like I need to go and watch it.
Posted By: AkMtnHntr Re: Better Call Saul - 02/11/15
I recorded and watched the 1st episode last night and didn't realize that the 2nd episode was on Monday night so I missed that one.

I never watched BB either so I had no idea this was linked to that series. After watching the first episode of BCS I think I'm going to like this show.

Not a sitcom? Well I thought Breaking Bad was hilarious, same type show?

What night and time is it on?
Posted By: 700LH Re: Better Call Saul - 02/12/15
I found something else to do early in the second episode.
Wouldn't have taken that long if the wife wasn't watching it.
Posted By: saddlering Re: Better Call Saul - 02/12/15
Liked the second night better, I think its going to be a Hit!
