The Crap they are sending out to the public...
As follows:
A few clicks. That's all it takes for a dangerous criminal to buy a gun in Josephine County.
That's because Oregon currently lets anyone sell a gun to a stranger they meet online -- no questions asked.
Today we're releasing a report where we looked into these online gun sales and made some pretty frightening discoveries. Meth users, felons, and domestic abusers are trying to evade background checks and buy guns online.
Fortunately, Oregon lawmakers are considering a bill to require everyone buying a gun to get a background check -- no matter where they buy it or who sells it to them. But your lawmakers need to know the facts before they vote, and that's where you come in.
Send your lawmakers in Salem the report about Oregon's vast online gun market to show them how many guns are available for sale online in Josephine County -- with no questions asked.
Our report shows that unlicensed sellers in Oregon post more gun ads online each week than they sell at gun shows in a full year. Of the people seeking guns in unlicensed, online sales, one in 18 are barred from owning guns by state or federal law. At this rate, unlicensed sellers in these markets could transfer 1,360 guns to criminals each year.
That's why Oregon's lawmakers should vote YES on SB 941 to require criminal background checks for all gun sales -- the most effective way to keep guns out of the wrong hands.
With more and more gun ads posted online each week, and the gun lobby actively rallying support against this life-saving measure, NOW is the time to take action.
Please make sure your representatives have this crucial information about Oregon's unchecked online gun market. Send the report to your legislator now, and tell them to vote YES on SB 941:
