Hmmm
Good. Maybe we're making a little headway in ridding the GOP of RINO's, if that's even possible.
Too many skeletons in the closet. Someone knows where he buried the bodies.
So who showed up with pics of McCarthy and the Goat?

People just don't drop out of the race when they're in the lead...
Probably not enough of a lead to win.
I don't think he was gonna get the nod.

More than than a few of the caucuses are supporting Webster from fla
If, by chance, Jason Chaffetz gets the slot, you'll like him a lot. The man is a bulldog, and very much NOT business as usual. The corruptocrats fear him.

Pair him with Cruz in the White House.

We might actually get something accomplished.
Yep. Heard him on Glenn Beck the other day and was impressed with Chaffetz.
a political revolution is far overdue. that is, a revolution related to who is running the political process, not to be confused with a physical revolution, like back in '76 or so.

this country has been begging for a catharsis for some time.

changing direction is not always a bad thing, not at all.

Perhaps but he looked ill-prepared trying to "gotcha" the PP woman recently.
GOP is committing suicide

We still need RINOs to win elections nationally. It's a numbers game.
The Freedom Caucus (Conservatives) headed up by Jim Jordan R-Ohio is in complete control of the process. McCarthy needed 28 of their 40 votes and that simply wasn't going to happen!

The Renee Ellmers Rumor and Kevin McCarthy’s Decision

Quote
It is again worth noting that both parties deny it. But the rumor itself may have led to McCarthy’s collapse. It has become a louder buzz over the past few days with more and more people on and off the hill talking about it. Once Ellmers’ odd quote was out there, the buzzing became chatter.

Now this.

From the comments:
"McCarthy pulls out. Renee Ellmers lights up a cigarette."

laugh
Live boys or dead girl? maybe............

McCarthy did right, after stepping on his d!ck about Benghazi, he should be taken out and shot. Too much a dumbazz, for sure, and we don't need Weeping Weasel 2.0, anyway.
Maybe not a bad thing McCarthy dropped out. Lets see who the next nominee is . Hopefully a real conservative. Maybe one that doesn't cry at the drop of a hat for starters.

Chaffedass is a joke, and yes I lived in the district he represents.
the plot thickens. Now Boehner will stay, at least until this is resolved. Gridlock would insure he just continues on, with business as usual.
i wouldn't be a bit surprised if the boehner wanted to deliver to the prez a gun bill that he'd be delighted to sign. not enough, mind you, but in the right direction is what he'd tell his public supporters.

the republicans might as well continue as demo-lites. it's worked so well for them so far.

the house needs to clean house. and then the fire needs to move to the senate, and allow the house-cleaning to progress there as well.

it's a political catharsis that this country and it's economy needs.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...ones-pressed-candidates-moral-turpitude/

WASHINGTON – Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)45%
dropped out of the race to become Speaker of the House following a letter sent by a Republican colleague warning Speaker candidates to drop out of the race to hide personal indiscretions that could embarrass the party.

House Majority Leader McCarthy dropped out of the race Thursday, just hours before a vote that was expected to make him the Republican nominee for Speaker. But conservatives were unhappy with McCarthy’s front-runner status.

Breitbart News reported Wednesday that Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC)72%
sent a letter to Republican Conference chairman Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA)48%
urging Speaker candidates to drop out if they have “skeletons in their closets.”

The letter was circulated around Capitol Hill, where it was read widely in the hours preceding McCarthy’s surprise decision.

“Some of the most difficult times have been when our Republican leaders or potential Republican leaders must step down because of skeletons in their closets,” Jones wrote. “We’ve seen it with former Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Bob Livingston, who ran for Speaker in 1998.”

“With all the voter distrust of Washington felt around the country, I’m asking that any candidate for Speaker of the House, majority leader, and majority whip withdraw himself from the leadership election if there are any misdeeds he has committed since joining Congress that will embarrass himself, the Republican Conference, and the House of Representatives if they become public,” Jones added.

It’s unclear at this time whether such issues of moral turpitude involve McCarthy, but rumors have been circulating about him and Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)54%
for some time in Capitol Hill circles. McCarthy’s wife was present for the GOP conference meeting behind closed doors in which McCarthy announced he was not running for Speaker of the House.
McCarthy dropped out because of that stupid comment about Benghazi.
He was never gonna get Lib votes in the house.
he was never gonna be the Speaker.

True, but we don't need to let them run the party.
true enough. the center of the party needs to lead. if ldrshp is denied, then we, the center needs to begin a party that truly represents our interests and values.

i'm sick of supporting people that doesn't represent me, just because they're less evil than the opposing candidate.

it's getting to the point this country should be represented by the rank & file, or it should be turned over to the socialists, for better or worse.

Sure wish someone had done that five years ago.

His stance towards public lands will keep me from liking him...
I think Webster is only 48% on Conservative Review. If what I read on the internet is correct. smile

Yup....he stuttered and stumbled on something that should have been a slam dunk.

My understanding is the speaker doesn't have to be a member of Congress...it that's indeed the case I Vote for Cruz....followed by a shot of arsenic for Barry and Joe.

On second thought...make that a double shot.
From my twitter feed:

Dick Cheney for Speaker.
lol

These misfits needed "a letter" to remind them of any exposure that might potentially occur?

If I remember correctly, Chaffetz [color:#3333FF]went after Meadows and removed him from his chairmanship when Meadows wouldn't support Boehner.

That gives the appearance of Chaffetz being Boehner's lap dog, in my eyes. I really hope we can do better.
Something smell rotten in DC

"Did Someone At DHS Edit The Wikipedia Pages Of Kevin McCarthy And Renee Ellmers?

An internet address originating from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was tied to entries made on the Wikipedia pages of North Carolina U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers and California U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy, alleging that the two Republicans were having an affair.

It is unclear if someone at the federal agency actually was behind the edits, which were first noted by Washington Free Beacon reporter Lachlan Markay. But both changes — McCarthy’s and Ellmers’ — show that a user at the IP address, 216.81.81.85, made them on Thursday.

That address comes from DHS’ offices in Springfield, Va."

I listened to an interview on Hannity's radio show last night. I don't know anything about him, but he seemed kinda wimpy and wishy washy. Maybe he's ok and that's just he sounds, I don't know.
That's Webster I'm talking about.
Paul Ryan being pushed by Boehner as the only one who can unite the party. Another source says:

Looking like it'll be Ryan if he'll accept.

Maybe McCarthy has seen the writing on the wall and doesn't want to be the one steering the ship when it goes down......
What is a California Republican??...... Democrat lite...at best...f him I'm glad he is gone!

Gowdy would be great, but we need him for Attorney General when the Republicans win back the White House.
Only one reason McCarthy dropped out and that is there wasn't enough votes to elect him. Conservative bunch won't support him but are struggling to find someone else. Gowdy does NOT want the job. I doubt Paul Ryan does either. He's got a young family and the job has a LOT of traveling. I do think Ryan would be good though.
Just saw this... Rich Lowry is editor of National Review.

Quote
kevin mccarthy in phone intv: "I personally want paul ryan"

— Rich Lowry (@RichLowry) October 8, 2015

But as of 5 hours ago, Paul Ryan was still refusing to run.
Ryan will not give up the cush position he has for a suck job.
Webster served 28 years in the Florida legislature, and was elected to the House in 2011.
Conservative record.
Well................bye.
The locals here are pushing for Mac Thornberry...

He's my Rep.... and a good one. Chairman of the Armed Services Subcommittee so he is not from completely outside the Leadership.

Jeb Hensarling is another Texan who's name was mentioned today. I forget which Committee he chairs.

No more Leaders from Blue States. Too much potential conflict of interest in pushing correct National Priorities and keeping the folks at home happy.

Nah,...the reason he dropped out is because they put the camera on him and he started talkin' some kinda pig latin.

You cain't be speaker of the house if you cain't speak.
They had to run Boehner off 'cause he couldn't say good fuggin' mornin' widdout snottin' all over the podium.

Ain't nuthin' to be gained by replacin' him with a damn pig latiner.
Peter Roskam from Illinois has shown interest in the job before.
He.s responsive to his constituency and would be ok ...but not the bulldog we need.
We need a SOTH from a RED STATE.

How in Hell can a politician be an effective counter to Obama if a majority of his state's voters AGREE with Obama?

There are no "Safe Districts", as long as gerrymandering exists, unless ALL the districts surrounding yours have like minded voters.

NO PAUL RYAN.
If you step on your dick before ya get the job. Common sense says you probably shouldn't get the FUGGIN job to begin with!!

Take care, Willie
