It is with much sadness I am posting this. I received word from RinB on 2/2/17 that Bob passed away. I'm sure many on the forums who knew him were aware of his health problems, but none of us expected this. I'm hoping that others here who were/are aware of the situation and funeral arrangements can post more details. Another one of the good guys has left us for happier hunting grounds. Rest in peace my friend.
Hate hearing this but it is coming to all of us

I am also sorry to hear this. Though I never actually met him, we talked several times and actually shared many of the same interests. I do not like hearing news like this because it drives home the fact that none of us are immortal. Time for everyone to get along or get OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peace be With You Bob...my Prayers for your Family...

"Because I am involved in mankind the death of any man diminishes me. Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee."
Really saddens me.

I was hoping I had mis-read the title of this thread, but Alas, apparently not.
RIP Bob.
Dang, hate this, may he rest in eternal peace.
Definitely one of the good guys...a true gentleman who always spoke sense. RIP Bob.
Sad to see him gone. RIP Bob.
I liked Bob. There have been some good guys on here that are gone, like Micky Coleman, Highbrass . A guy from Minnesota , I think his name was Hermantown. Sad to see them go.
Maybe we should create a " Gone but not forgotten thread.
Bob was a really good guy. RIP Bob. May Saint Peter meet you at the Gates with a great bull tag and a M70 in 7 Mashburn.
It's sometimes hard to judge someone that you only know from the internet. I don't know anyone on here other than that way, but I've been here long enough to notice which posters seem to go out of their way to be rude and nasty with others. Bob wasn't that way, from what I saw. He seemed to be one of the "good guys". People like him will be missed.
Godbless and godspeed Bob. Someone who brought to the table more than a limited point of view.
Sorry to hear about this he will be missed.
Sad. "Life is but a vapor . . ."
One of the good guys! R.I.P. Bob!!
Very Sorry to hear of the passing of one of the long standing Fire members.
His posts were a regular and steady beat.
To his family you are in my thoughts today and during this hard time.
Bob was appreciated for his originality.
very sorry to hear this. We communicated several time regarding rifle scabbards. He was very helpful. At least he got to see Trump get elected.
Always a man with a good perspective on all things gunny.
So sorry to hear he's gone.
Wow, I'm shocked. Definitely one of the good guys. Prayers offered up for him and his family.
So sorry to hear this, we definitely lost a good one.
RIP Bob
Talked an awful lot of schit for a guy knockin' on death's door!
RIP.

Travis
Amen to that!
Bob kept it real to the very end!
Bob and I disagreed on one topic, SA vs LA. He was a LA guy, but we exchanged several PMs and he was always very gracious and respectful. I will miss him dearly and always read his responses with interest and respect. May you RIP BobinNH.

In case you didn't know, we're all knocking on death's door...
Bob was always a pleasure to converse with.
Like Allen Day, he did a lot more hunting than most realize. His practical knowledge and field experience, like Allen's, will be a tough act to follow.
With the info that g5m gave, I found this:
http://www.currentobituary.com/obit/203734Edited to add: pretty interesting and talented guy. Played the accordion professionally, was a talented athlete, an attorney, and "a frequent and regular contributor to an outdoor sportsman’s blog" as well as a family man.
I didn't know him but after reading his Obituary it's easy to see he had a hell of a life! RIP sir!
Maybe we should create a " Gone but not forgotten thread.
I don't post often, mostly lurk. I like your idea.
Our sincere condolences to your family and friends. RIP Bob.
I'm gonna miss Bob, like many on here we spent a lot of time on pm's back and forth about guns (270 winchester's and pre 64's) with Bsa1917. He was genuine good guy and a very knowledgeable fella. My condolences to the family and all his friends. RIP Bob

This is a real shock to me today.. Prayers and condolences offered for his family and friends..
RIP Bob..
Like most of us, he was opinionated, but it was based on his personal experiences not some rehashed gun shop talk. I didn't always agree with him, but liked reading his posts. He will be missed.
RIP
All ways enjoyed his posts, he knew what he was talking about RIP
I too, did not know he had passed til today.

Does anybody know if his stuff is being auctioned? Or where it might be listed?
