This is the single most important reason that I voted for Trump. He is in a position to put another badly needed Conservative on the SCOTUS.
There are a lot of things about him that I do not like to see in someone that is the most important person in the world.......but, that's on a personal level, and if he does the right thing on a business and political level, and so far he has, then I'll continue to support him.
Most of the really important things affect our country usually end up, in one form or another, in the hands of those 9 Supreme Court judges. If the balance of the court ever tips in the favor of the Liberals.....and it very easily could.....you can kiss America as we have known it goodbye. Hopefully Trump will have the opportunity to appoint some more judges to the SCOTUS.

Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday tore into the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Trump’s controversial travel ban targeting several Muslim-majority countries.
Among them: Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim ever elected to Congress.
“Today’s decision undermines the core value of religious tolerance on which America was founded,” Ellison said in a statement shortly after the ruling came down. “I am deeply disappointed that this ruling gives legitimacy to discrimination and Islamophobia.”
In the 5-4 decision, the court’s five more conservative justices voted to reject a constitutional challenge to the third version of the ban, which Trump issued in September. During his 2016 presidential bid, Trump called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims” entering the United States. That proposal subsequently evolved into a vague promise of “extreme vetting.”
Earlier versions of ban restricted immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries. The latest iteration revised the list to include North Korea and Venezuela.
“America holds a unique place in the world as a nation of immigrants,” Ellison continued. “Unlike some other countries, we welcome refugees, asylum seekers, and dreamers fleeing war and instability in other parts of the world. You do realize the SC rarely ruled on anything prior to 1900 and when they did, it was a joke then as it is now. I give you Dred Scott, for all the states rights wonks. Let's not forget the Plessy v. Ferguson/Brown V. Board debacle. They have no clue what is or isn't "Constitutional", only to rule in derelict to how laws are made.
The President has every power granted by the Constitution to do what he did, or wants to regarding people who have no rights, Constitutionally, to be here. The only branch that can have recourse on the matter is the Legislative branch, who, like many, are all too eager to be absentia and give powers that do not exist to the SC.
