Really can’t fathom why someone would want to add 12 oz. or so of weight and 7 in. or so of length to a mountain rifle.
Once you start shooting everything with a suppressor, it’s hard to fathom hunting without one.
The Fieldcraft is a no brainer, here.
Agree 110%
I have owned a .308 Fieldcraft with 18” bbl threaded 5/8, 6.5 Cr with 21” featherweight barrel threaded 1/2”, and now have the 22” sporter 6.5 Cr threaded at 5/8”. If you want a 1/2 MOA mountain rifle that shoots as easily as a BR gun, put a silencer on a Barrett Fieldcraft.
For a mountain stalking rifle, 18” is probably your Huckleberry. Since I’m not stalking in the mountains, I went with the 5lb 7.4oz version with 22” sporter barrel. It is my (new) favorite firearm.
