This forum is a Morphodyke! Inlines mixed with Traditional! S hiteree!!
Posted By: flintlocke Re: Forum - 01/30/21
I don't care for inlines, it always seemed to me to be an "end run around the rulebook". Defeated the whole purpose of blackpowder hunting. But, the market is the market, as long as state agencies can sell tags, anything goes. We got feeding stations, game cameras, night vision gear, gizmos and geegaws...wonder if anybody is using drones yet?

And the compound bow hunters hate crossbows and traditional bow hunters hate compounds and so on and so on. What difference does it make as long as it’s keeping folks interested in the hunting?

As far as the forum goes.....this section is called muzzleloaders. You still have to load an inline through the muzzle. There are plenty of social media sites that have your same interests. It just takes a couple of key stokes on google to find them. Actually less strokes than your post here. Good luck to you sir!

I have and use:

Caplocks and inlines
Flyrods, spinning tackle, and conventional
Single-shot, bolt action, and semi-auto rifles
Pump, auto, single shot, and soon O/U shotguns
Iron sights and optics
Revolvers and auto-loading pistols
Recurve and crossbow
CO2 and springer airguns
MacOS, IOS and Windows
Shovels and rototillers
Hardcover, paperback, and Kindle
Wine, beer, and liquor
Coffee and tea
NAS, KJV, AS, ESV, WEB

Any problems with any of that, tell your Momma. She cares, but I don’t.
🥱

Just like there's a Mauser & Military but not an Enfield. The inlines are a different breed of cat. Yes, they are lazier. Just like putting a scope on a muzzle loader. If I want info on my Enfields, I go to an appropriate site. I'd never put a scope on my percussion Kentuckys. Basically, it's to each his own.

Shooting an inline is like kissing your sister.

I doubt you ever even met my sister.

Or minnows, arrows, spears, or dynamite 😉.

I don't care what others like. if inlines are their cup of tea, fine with me.

My tastes run old-fashioned. But I don't feel my taste in guns is "the true religion" as seems to be the way of many. It's a sad and insecure person that demands all other agree with him (We call those types Democrats and Socialists as a rule) I like what I like and I don't care what anyone else likes---- nor do I care if they don't like what I like.

Inlines just don’t tick my clock but I can see me shooting one sometime. Traditional cap and ball along with flint locks just seem to speak to my heart. I’m a sucker for any old school firearm, steel and nice wood.in the end I would much rather see folks shooting a inline rather than nothing.

Most of those inline guys aren't buying up my Swiss. I am amazed at some of the accuracy the inline guys are getting with the custom rigs. Not my cup of tea but respect it. Hoping the Hawken gets bloody again in Sept and Oct.

Shoot what you brought, its all good.

I wonder if there is a compromise rifle? Fast twist for long heavy slugs, accurate as hell at long range, but external hammer and cap ignition? Oh wait, there is...the Whitworth. Now were all happy.

Flint is the word here in Pennsylvania.
I have an encore also, but prefer the flint myself.

Ain't gonna ever jerk the trigger on an inline, but do have a couple muzzle loaders with scopes.

If it goes bang I will give it a try.
I prefer traditional but do have a cva online. Sob is a 1.25 inch shooter at 100. I can't get that with my sides. But I don't get the giggles with it that I do with my sides.

Ha! That underhammer need not apply for our Mountaineer Heritage Season. Sidelocks only. Ignorance abounds in F&G departments everywhere.

Got a spiffy little underhammer pistol on order. Always liked those, all the way back to the H&A days. Anyone’s guess on when it’ll get here from Italy.

Im the opposite. I have an inline and have zero interest in shooting traditional. That being said, I respect the hell out of the guys that shoot traditional, no scope, etc. I will admit I got my inline to extend my deer season. Love shooting and eating deer and this was a way to do it in December.

You're lucky, Beretta. Here in WA you have to pick bow, powder or modern first. Then pick the East or West side of the Cascades. Then pick the area where you plan to hunt. Then pick mule or whitetail deer. Finally, you get to pick one buck or doe (if you draw an either sex permit).

Always a good way to get the pot stirred up! LOL LOL!

To each his own...

But I personally agree with something I read somewhere, can’t remember where.
“The inline technology seems to be trying to re-invent the .30-06.”

Like a Jack-of-All-Trades but without a side by side shotgun.

LOL, those would be illegal here.

In light of all the ammo hubub, I’ve just gone back to sporting one of my flintlocks if I need to head to the forest. Plenty flints, plenty powder. I got a Colt’s Navy Revolver if I need a handgun and those little cap thingies to make it go boom. Or I can pull out my boarding pistol! 🤣

. As far as forums, I’m not going to let the mascinations of anyone on a social media forum influence my attitude or bother my preferred method of hunting/shooting. I do what I want to do. I have no issues getting the job done.

Funny clothes and all!

Especially the funny clothes!

Can’t help that yer G&F peeps are full retard, condolences. Tell your friends if they want to argue with me when that one is in my hands they need to be a loooooong way out there when they start yappin’. grin

I know a couple of wankers that use inlines. They believed the myth that BP was hard to clean and they didn’t have to worry about cleaning their in-line guns. Both of their guns look like termites worked the bore over with great zeal.
