If you could have any firearms resurrected and brought back into full-scale production, what would they be?

My list:

Revolvers
S&W K-frames
S&W J-frames in .44 Special
S&W I-frames in modern cartridges

Semi-auto pistols
Lugers (real ones)
Broomhandle Mausers

Shotguns
Lefever SxS
Browning A-5
Winchester Model 12
Winchester 1897

Bolt-action rifles
Winchester pre-64 Model 70s
Remington 788

Non-bolt action rifles
Savage 99s, internal brass rotary mags, and safeties on the lever. D&T'd, of course.
Winchester 1892
Winchester 1886
Sako Finnwolf
Marlin lever actions (all of them) WITHOUT the ugly-azz press checkering and good, smooth, high-grade walnut stocks
Posted By: 1B Re: Firearms you want brought back? - 04/22/06
Mannlicher Schoenauers pre-68s!
1B
Savage 99s in classic calibers & proper twist rates (250-3000, 358, 300 etc). Add to this the new 338 federal.

Winchester M70s worth a damb. Not the junk they produced the last few years. As a left handed shooter.......I had no chance to enjoy the glory years of the M70

Remington 7600s WITHOUT "J" locks..........in 35 Whelen of course!

Quality walnut stocks...........available on more rifles. Synthetics have great utilitarian appeal. But nice walnut is just a joy to hold & hunt with.
Remington model 14
Pre mil Savage 99
Pre 64 Winchester Model 70
Marlin 1893
Original Marlin 1895
Marlin 1897
Remington Model 12
Browning FN Bolt Action
Savage-Fox Model B-what a nice little double barrel.
Remington Model 600 and 788
Hi-Standard Sport King
Savage Model 99 the way they made the old ones.
I would like the chance at either the 307 or 356 in Marlin or Winchester
Savage 99,S&W revolvers with tapered barrels & the old style thumb latch, pre stupid safety Marlin leverguns , but most of all the QUALITY of yesteryear
Anything that is not a short mag !
Charlie
A real L.C. Smith shotgun. Not the spanish stuff that Marlin is making with the name L.C. Smith stamped on them.

BeanMan
Colt Diamondback .22 and S&W K-22's.
S&W Model 27 and 28, love those old N-frame .357 Mags.
Original Model 29 with 4, 6 1/2 and 8 3/8 barrels and decent bluing
Real guns for real shooters...and loonies too. Saying it goes w/o saying...sometimes it needs repeating LOUDLY....QUALITY GOES A LOT FURTHER THAN BS in firearm production. Hope somebody important heard that.

I tend toward older guns for fun and sometimes serious work. Quality modern works are amazing tools and I appreciate that, and I use them, even though they sometimes lack soul. I shall not mention those oldies currently being produced by the likes of C. Sharps, Ballard etc. etc.....they ARE being made. So my shortish list:

The Henry Rifle chambered in the .44 Henry Flat
Win. Mod 88...action slicked, as it never was
Win. Mod 42
Browning patent .22 auto chambered in .22 Short
Some of the Fox or Parker repro's with Damascus barrels...nothing was ever so lovely.

There are others but this will do for now. More than any of this though, I'd prefer to see "Made in USA" rather than other places of non-sequitor lineage...stamped or engraved.
Sakos
M57, L46 & L461. Also Lyman All American fixed power scopes.
Colt 1903 hammerless in .380 (Is Kimber listening?)
+1 on the S&W Model 27
S&W model 625 in .45 Colt
Winchester 94
Remington 788
Pre-64 Model 70

The 6mm Remington, .257 Roberts, .300 H&H and .284 Winchester as regular offerings in most all factory rifles.

Model 94 Winchesters with 26 inch barrels.

Better Quality Control and pride in workmanship in all factory guns.

Savage 99

Winchester 88

1903 Springfield

HBB
Colt Woodsman and Winchester 92's and 62A
Virgil B.
Winchester pre-64 70s
Winchester 1886
Winchester 1897
Winchester 21
Winchester 1885
Winchester 90/06's
Remington 1858/New Army

Nathan
Winchester pre-64 model 70 Bolt Action in 300 and 375 H&H
Winchester model 71 in 348 Winchester
Winchester model 1886 in 40-82 WCF
Remington model 37 22 LR bolt action
Remington model 31 20 gauge Pump shotgun
Colt Diamondback 22 LR revolver (To match my Python)

I probably wouldn't be able to afford all of them, but it would sure be nice to handle them once in awhile.

Ruger #3, maybe "caliber of the year" and "action only"
Ruger #1 "action only"
I hopin someone will return the Model 70 to its legendary pre-64 status. As already stated quality over quantity/cheap price. I would be willing to spend alot more on a rifle if the quality of workmanship was evident. I don't think I'm alone. Sam
Winchester 1886
Winchester 92
Winchester 61
Colt Woodsman
Colt Commercial PreWar .38 Super
Marlin Marauder .35 Remington
The 1993 Marlin in .30-30 with the 16-1/2" barrel. (dummies made

the browning belgium A5 spoke of Quality.(listening gun company bean counters?)
Ditto on Lugers, and also the A5's. One I'd really like to see again is the IMI Timberwolf carbine.

A late addition to my post:

BMT
The great Winchester .22's, the 52s (Japan made repros are excellent, but would love a USA made one), 75s, 63, 62,61 and the 9422 & 9417.

The fine Winchester model 70 Classic (well made like the early model's).

Winchester model 's 12, 42 and 21.

Shotgun: L.C. Smith's

Jeff
Bring back the S&W model 63 w/out the lock on the sideplate.
32 rimfire ammo and paper 10 gauge hulls.
Many here I already agree with. I wish they'd quit the big markings on the Smiths and just bring back the style with flat butts on the L and N frames and the rosewood or Goncalo Alves stocks.

Winchester, all that have already been mentioned plus the 1873 and 1866 models.

Smith should bring out the 1st Russian.

I don't even know where to begin with Colt as I ain't familiar with their products anymore. What about the SP-1 series of the AR-15.
A 1913 Erfurt Luger
A very accurate Old Model Ruger .44 SBH
A S&W Model 63

I want the low down son of a b**** who stole them from my house 25 years ago to bring them back!
In preferential order:

1) Ithaca 37R (solid rib, deluxe, W/ cut checkering).

2) S&W K-22.

3) Winchester 61.

4) Pre-64 M-70, with Dunlap gas shield incorporated into the
bolt shroud.

5) Winchester M12 field guns.
Yes! The Remington 31. AND.....
Each pump and autoloader made on a gauge proportional, specific frame size.

30G,

Exactly! I can live with the stock drop, as long as only iron sights are used. A good trigger, and a sear that doesn't have to pull double duty as a bolt stop, would make the '20 an even more superb light sporter, than it already is.

Jeff
Remington Nylon 66, black and chrome

Steyer Mannlicher model L (I think that's the one with the nice high gloss wood and gorgeous bluing, and that "oh so cool" twist on the outside of the bbl).

High standard supermatic trophey

Browning "safari" rifles with FN and Sako actions

Kimber 82 in 218 bee

Remington 11-48 in 28ga

There'll be more, but that's my 1st list.

- Winchester Model 61

- Winchester Model 12

- Winchester Model 92

- Browning High-Power (Safari)

- Smith & Wesson Triple-Lock

AD
94 Winchester
S&W Mod 63

...and another vote for the excellent Savage Mod 24C "Camper's Companion"
Savage 99 in the classic calibers, especially .358 and .30-30, with case colors, blued and walnut! Maybe also a bigger frame size to accomodate a .45-70 or .450 marlin.

Ruger Number 3
Winchester 1895 without the stupid safety
Marlin 336 ADL
3rd generation Colt Detective Special.
Rem 788
Winchester M88 in .358
Savage M99 in .250-3000
Remington M788
Mannlicher Schoenauer in 6.5 x54, 7x57, etc.
A Titanium 600 would be soooo sweet..............
Model 70 featherweight in .280!!!!!! CD
i just wish that the current gun makers would quit trying to re-invent the wheel and make quality, well crafted and affordable guns. when i pick up my 1950's vintage marlin 336 rc it feels like a gun and not some mass produced lawyered piece of stainless and plastic.
Rifles
Sako Finnwolf (just the way they where)
Savage 99 (The older style of course)

Shotguns
Remington 1100 (high gloss finish all around)

Ammunition

5mm Remington Rimfire (hard to use this sleek gun when ammo is $60.00 a box if your lucky to find it)

Scopes
Gloss finish (damn who the heck wants to put a matte finish scope on a beautiful glossed stock and high lustre blued action.)

Things to go

Short Magnums, synthetic stocks
