Dave, the heavy gun I will be shooting this year is 300Rum built on a Mauser action with a 36" Krieger 9 twist barrel. It will be topped with a 8.5-25x50 Leupold Long Range scope. The gun weigh's 50 pound's.
My wife and I have several guns for Williamsport and in two classes. The Heavy gun and the 16 1/2 Lb Resrticted class.

Most are in the 300 Weatherby or 300 Imp case design.
I also have a variety of 6MM IMP and 6.5/284 heavy guns too.

I have some full aluminum stock Heavy benchrest rifles with Stainless rails, Remington actions, barrel blocked and with Leupold 8 1/2X to 25X LR scopes and some with laminated walnut stocks.

50 pounds??!! Man, Boyd, I hope that thing has wheels on it! Heck, you'd need 2 drag ropes. One for the deer and one for the gun![Linked Image]

What powder do you use, and what is the MV with a 36 in pipe?
7mm
50 pound's is A lite Heavy gun.....There are gun's at Willimsport that weigh close to 100 pound's.Velocity will be in the 3150 range with the 240 MK's.Powder will probably be RL25 or H1000.........
In the IBS and the NBRSA they have what they call rail guns or machinerests. No sand bags. No weight limit,in fact no limits at all. Its called the unlimited class or heavybench. The course of fire is 5,10 shot groups at 100 and 200 for a 100 shot agg.
You guys have anything like this over there.?

7MM

If you were asking if Williamsport has a class where we shoot machine rests at 100 or 200 yards or any range, the answer is no.

We only shoot 1000 yards and have two classes. The 16 1/2 Lb and the Heavy Benchrest class. We shoot 10 shots for record in both classes.

We have NO unlimited classes at all.

No 1000 yard ranges that I know of have the rail guns or total unlimited class guns as you mentioned.
