Would like to see some lighter weight 7mm Remington Mag builds/specs.
I'd also like to see a few Dark Camo McMillan stocks. Not much on here looking around.
Closest I came to a LW 7 was a factory 7 mag in a KS stock.
Not sure what all the fuss is over that stock.
Here's a light gray/medium gray/black dark camo.
Darker in person, the flash lit it up.

Here's your 2nd request:
50% Olive, 25% Dark Brown, 25% Black.
Didja fix your clutch & CC?
MtnHtr
Why a mag?
Why not a 280 AI?
dave
That's a sharp looking stock, MtnHtr.
We have now confirmed the sky is falling.
I've yet to see me turn out a questionable build.
I know, just funnin'. Big Seven, eh? 1-9?
BTW, had Dave do a 7x61 S&H now is a wood Mtn rifle stock on a #2. Want the weight?
I know you know and you know I know, you know?
Not too many secrets out of the bag yet. Waiting for the 'why didn't I think of that' when it's time.
Bastid. I'll weigh it anyway since I can't remember.
8lbs on the nose. Wood stock is heavy though, talleys, 3x9 VXII. What I need is an Edge but not enough clams to sshhhwiiingg at one right now.
I missed the WOOD part of Mtn Rifle stock, else I'd have pegged it!
7 mag........WTF?
Is nothing sacred.....?
Don't worry, you'll be wanting one once you see what I've got brewing.
Whatever you are gonna use it on, better be big enough to bite back...
I'm leaning towards a 9 twisted #2 in Hart stainless for mine. Stock is ordered and should be here in March or so. Planning on running 150s to 180s in it.
You seem to be liking Edges lately and I think a Hunters Edge with a #2 would be quite nice. You've posted a lot of cool builds lately and don't think you need much help.
7 Mag, 7 schmag, the question is what bullet?...
Give it up!
I'm definitely a fan of McMillan Dark Camo. This one's a M40A1....1/2" decelerator and 2 cups/1 stud.......destined to be a 223 AI with CDI bottom metal and AI mag.......Jewell Trigger......Brux Varmint Contour barrel cut to 20"........blah, blah, blah.
If you copy the link in the file "properties" into the browser, you'll see more detail.
That one's actually forest camo.
I wonder if sky blue and stainless go together?
50% black, 25% olive, 25% light gray. Though it's a heavy, it's a 7 mm. Mag. Model 70. It likes 160 gr. Accubonds and 168 gr. Sierra MatchKings the best.

Steelhead Precision Rifles comin at ya...

Not exactly sky blue but
That one's actually forest camo.
Damn how you do that! I had a brainfart and shot the wrong stock. Here is the dark camo M40A1. That's a sure sign of having too much schitt on your plate! Sorry about that Steelhead, but thanks jwill for the heads-up.
Same deal......Copy and past the link in pic "properties" to your browser for bigger pics.
I've got 2 forrest and a dark and have to say I prefer the dark. My 8Mag is riding in what amounts to a swirled dark but all the pics look like garbage and it all runs together and looks....welll.....dark. Looks nice with stainless or dark metal work.

Everyone is showing Scott stock colors.....but when is someone gonna give specs to build a light 7 mag?
Bob - I would hope he knows that ....
I kept thinking I would do one and bought that RI 7mag on a M70. Looks like it's a keeper since I'm the only one that wants it....
6lbs 12 oz with mts.
Dave that is a nice 7 mag!You should keep that one!

Mark,
It's super accurate with Nosler Trophy Grade ammo, the 260 load with NPTs. The owner does not handload!

Smarty pants! Just hasn't been built yet. Need to send the stock and bottom metal to CDI so they can inlet it. McMillan didn't go deep enough. I've got a Brux varmint contour waiting as soon as I get around to doing the stock and sending it to the smith.

I've always liked that one!
Gonna have to watch this as time goes by. I would like to build a light 7mm Remmy myself. I have two build in front of it. Since I havent completed the my first build yet, it will probably be a while.
Well, not really a build...just something I cobbled together.
Dakota 97 Hunter, 300 Win Mag, factory 24" barrel about #2. Sitting in a Brown Kevlar Pounder, with an early Rem ADL alloy trigger guard (the nice light one).
Goes 7# with Leupold 6x42, Leupold steel weaver bases, and Burris Zee rings. I'd prefer some Talley UL, but Dakota takes a pretty goofy base.
It is a bit of a handful, but I don't mind it that much - especially for hunting.
How the heck does this relate? Well, I'm thinking about putting a 7rem barrel on it...and it would about the same specs. So take it for what it's worth.
