I’m at a gun show and saw this Savage 99 in 303 Savage. I was wondering if anyone had a quick idea of its value. It is in extremely good shape, serial numbered in 200XXX range. Lever is vivid case color, blueing is 95% and wood is 95%. Front sight has blade with a bead formed into it..

It looks to be refinished and reblued. That detracts from collector value.

1899B post WWI. It wouldn't have the high gloss receiver if it was original.

Whats the SN of the gun below it? Looks to be a prett early td

Re-blue , no collector value, at least for me. Probably around 6-700 ??

I recently bought one from a member of this forum for 900-bucks that was in damn good shape. I was happy with the price. However, if the 99 in your picture could talk I bet it would say "ouch." What's up with that gloss? I'd keep looking if it was me and put the money towards something more solid.

Would one of you guys fly here to Phoenix Arizona and go look at this with me so I don’t make a mistake?

Fuggit! It's just money . Go fer it!

You guys have great eyes. I can't tell anything from the picture other than the wood is refinished

You can tell the owner likes the smell burnt powder , has his nose in the barrel.

Sure looks refurbished to me.

The one below it looks more “ original “.

Looks like a big hunk of wood missing from the tang.

I'd call that middle one an A. I do not see a takedown latch. Regardless, been totally redone from what I can see. I'd pass.

Maybe it is the pic (and my eyes lol), but I'm seeing a round barrel, not an octagon; so 1899A.

Not always about collectible maybe just about data?

Buy me a ticket? I used to live in Las Cruces and Jemas Springs and would love getting back down to the Southwest!

That is so not a $1400 rifle. You can do much better if you start to focus on it.

That’s why I came to this forum, you guys are more familiar with a 99 than I will ever be…
