sure seems to be a lot of these for sale on the gun sites....maybe they made another run of them
get them while you can
What does the AH indicate?
My untrained eye says they look like A’s
AH is basically a 1A without the front sight or rear sight dovetail in the quarter rib. Same fore end, same barrel band swivel stud, same weight barrel, though 24" long instead of 22" as on the 1A.
Previous runs were all .25-06 to my recollection. The current run seems to be a split of .25-06 and 6.5 Creed.
Got mine from "El Numero Uno". Had a VERY nice piece of Circassian walnut. 24" barrel is perfect for this rifle.

25-06 No. 1 and deer hunting...that sounds pretty good combo.
Probably a job for the 100g ballistic tip.
Probably the best balanced of all #1, extra 2" of barrel in the A contour without the B forend, made the one I had in 25-06 feel very nice in the hands.
24" 25-06 with 100 - 120 gr bullets is a terrific deer & antelope cartridge.
Number One is classy.
Enjoy your rifles!
I have one for the first run with really nice Circassian wood. I’m disappointed in this new run as mine was holding value pretty well and was very uncommon with <250 produced. I am glad that other folks will get the pleasure of owning one of these rifles in this wonderful configuration.
Which ones have the Cicassian stocks? Was this a Lipseys run? I got one of the 257 Weatherby's from the last run but the AH configuration would be even nicer. I am tempted to have RJ Renner put that rifle on a diet but haven't as it may have collectors value at some point.
A B in .25-06 sounds good but something a little more trim sounds better.
This sounds about right
I have always thought that the AH was the perfect configuration for the No.1 and wondered why Ruger didn't offer it more often. The stock 1A and RSI are both excellent and I love to carry them, but everything just feels right about the AH in the field. In addition to a first run 25-06 with Circassian Walnut (also from El Numero Uno), I've had three other 1As rebarreled to this configuration in 6.5x55, 7x57, and 6.5-06. The new 7x57 is making 2890 FPS with the 150 Partition and RL-19 according to a chrono I was allowed to shoot through at the range I belong to. The two 6.5s have proven deadly on Pronghorn. Any of those three would be all I ever needed to hunt the rest of my life, but they are each pretty cool in their own way and aren't going anywhere just yet. I kept the original barrels (with front sight and barrel band on two) so that when it's time to sell, the next owner can restore the original configuration if desired. BTW, the same configuration in the 1S is pretty nice, too. I've had two "SH" configurations made with 24" barrels in 338-06AI and 35 Whelen (ironically, I had just paid for the 35W when Ruger announced the 1S model in that chambering. Dang.)
The 257 Weatherby No.1B should have a hypodermic point on it’s muzzle. At 28” the barrel is closer to the game animal than the shooter!
(I have one, beautiful stock and the only Weatherby I’ve ever owned. I should go shoot it......😄)
I made a faux AH out of an A.......24” Shilen 1:9 chambered in 257 Roberts

Very NICE!
I got this one in last Wednesday from El Number Uno. I have some Warne rings coming in today so these will probably get swapped out before I sight it in.
2013 manufacture 1AH .25-06 Rem, Circassian with red pad and anniversary checkering.
I bought mine off of here it's one of the original run from Lipsey's. It's not the most accurate of my #1's as I struggle to get much below 2" groups but it will do 1.5" from time to time. Even though it's not the most accurate, it's still my favorite. It's fun to shoot and a dream to carry. I don't use it much for mule deer or whitetail out in the open but for blacktail in the cascades it's perfect. You can't see how pretty the rifle or the deer are in the picture as I took it with my phone on auto timer after dark but you get the jist.

I love mine, best of the Number 1's IMHO. Mine shoots 117 Sierras into about 3/4" all day long. Just perfect for mule Deer and Antelope here in the West. they are a lot nicer to carry than the !B's which are heavy.
Long ago Ruger offered the #1 in an AB configuration. I had one in 7X57 with really nice wood, in fact I bought the gun because of the wood. When I had my first custom rifle built I choose the 7X57 AI and foolishly sold the #1. I still look for it on line and at guns shows hoping it will show up. The good news is after almost 30 years I still have the custom rifle and will take it out Sunday which is opening day.
IMHO if Ruger offered these as a semi custom rifle with nice wood and available features as case colored actions rings, grip caps etc and priced them between current costs and say a Dakota 10 they would sell. I have done two full customs on this action and both were way less then a comparable Dakota would have cost.
I have one of the original AH’s and love it. A friend/FFL ordered it for me from Lipsey’s when I was stationed overseas. It sat for 6 years before I was able to see it.
It’s my favorite No. 1 for sure. I have several but being that it’s so rare and easy to carry makes it the one I use the most.

Less than a Dakota , but not as nice, don't kid yourself.
Well, I guess I have an “almost” AH. Had a mediocre shooting 1A 30-06 rebarreled to 7x57 several years ago. It’s got a 23” 1A tapered barrel. Absolutely love it.
Why a 23” barrel? Oh, just because.....
Has anyone heard if the 1-AH will be made in 2021 and if so what cartridge?
A circassian in 280 AI would be hard to pass up
A circassian in 280 AI would be hard to pass up
My dream rifle.
A circassian in 280 AI would be hard to pass up
The only way that will happen is if you have it built yourself.
Actually, there has been a run of No.1A's, with a 25" barrel, done as an Exclusive for Classic Sporting Arms last year. a few are still available.
Forgot yo add-it is a 280 Ackley Improved!!
I think the 1ah is great. My primary, and for years only deer rifle is a 1a 270. After serious study and reading, the young loonie in me insisted on a 280, settled for the used 270, which has always [bleep] better than most. Got lucky
However, I am skeptical that the balance is really different, considering the massive front sight on the A vs 2" extra bbl on the ah, didn't feel much different to me...
That 25" 280ai is something I would really like, gotta be careful not to hurt the 270s feelings though, after44 years and @ 80 deer and an elk...
