Good find. I found a couple in the $800.00 range a couple years ago. That's a nice original looking rifle and great deal.

Cool rifle. One of the last XTR's. Kind of a transition model, since it still says "XTR" on it, plus it has 'featherweight" in cursive on the barrel. Nice find. What are your thoughts on it?

I hate to admit but at 54 years old I have never owned a pre-64 Model 70. I had been keeping my eye out for a while, preferably a .270 Featherweight. This .30-06 came up and apart from the recoil pad, looked great. With shipping and sales tax I’m all in at $904. I think it was a decent deal. I’m buying it as a hunting rifle, I’m not a collector.

I think it’s a very uncommon rifle and somebody wanted it far more than I did!

Sold for $1600.

Should make a great hunting rifle for you. Good luck with it. I was at a LGS the other day, and they had a STD 264 Win mag, 30-06 fwt, 243 fwt, and a 264 fwt. The fwt's were all priced at $1,100.00. Rifles were in pretty good condition, but I did not buy any. The 243 reminded me of two I've seen for $800.00 a while back. The 30-06 was made in 1963, and had a recoil pad on it. The 264 fwt was probably the best deal of the bunch... I would have still talked them down to $1,000.00, but it wasn't calling to me for some reason..

For sure. Cool rifle because of its rarity, and configuration..
