What is the reason for removing yourself from a PM thread? Is it a polite way to say get [bleep]? I don’t understand why a person would remove themselves? Why not just keep it there? Seems strange.

Rick limits you to 1000 unless you pay the annual $100 overage fee. I keep forgetting to pay mine, so my mailbox is perpetually full. Only way to clean it so that you can get new messages is to delete PM’s.

Buy something from a classified seller, handle the purchase and remove yourself from the PM when the transaction is completed.

Just a way of keeping the folder cleaned up, some may use it as a GFY. If you have multiple messages with the same title it can get cumbersome weeding through them, if someone has already said NO to a sale, I remove it and move on.....

If you have read my response to your response and you didn't comment back, after a few days I remove it and move on......

None of them are meant as a GFY, if that is what I want to say I say GFY......

YMMV

I like to keep things neat, simple, and tidy. No offense meant to anyone. I simply delete old correspondence once it appears the conversation is over. I think that removes me from the conversation.

Why keep a conversation around if you're done messaging about whatever it was you were messaging about?

If it was a transaction in classifieds why keep it if transaction is a done deal?

I guess I didn’t fully understand. So if that message shows up on your messages, it simply means the message was deleted out of the other person’s mail? Makes sense. I’ve deleted a bunch. I guess that message showed up on their end. After 11 years I learned something new😂
