The male redwings are back. The females will be along in a couple weeks. Robins have been here for several weeks.

Heard the first upland sandpiper last weekend. Saw my first scissortail flycatcher too. The first local barn swallow showed up this week tho I saw them maybe ten days back on coastal Alabama (I 10).
Purple martin “scouts”, always the first, showed up early February.
About two weeks from now the big springtime flood of migrant warblers, thrushes, orioles, tanagers etc etc headed to point north will commence crossing the Gulf in huge numbers.
