I can't recall the exact words but I remember reading a while back someone asked Duane after he had done some music with Eric Clapton, what's it like to play with another great guitarist. Duane said something to the effect of he enjoyed it and Dickie Betts can play some too.

Hard to tell since Duane never lived much beyond puberty. I am amazed one band could have had two guitarists of such caliber. I hate Duane didn’t live to a ripe old age, but am thankful for what they recorded while he was here. All man Brothers was likely the best southern rock bands of all time. I doubt that caliber of music will ever be recorded again.

Southern rock is the best!!!

Been an ABB fan for many years, have seen them many times,Dickey solo as well.
Met him once at his tour bus after the show and grabbed an autograph.
Last time I seen him in public he looked really bad.
Dude could play

I think Duane played the slide part in the coda on the original track of “Layla”. At least it sure sounded like him.

Yep, lead and slide on 11 of the 14 cuts on "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" by Derek and the Dominos produced by Tom Dowd, (an American btw.)
