I have a 30-06 inbound and a box of the afore mentioned Scenars.

Anyone running the 155 Scenars in an 06?
What brass, and powder?

How about seating depth for the 155's? They do well with a jump or like it up in the lands?

Thanks!

Win. Brass, 58.0 gr's of H4350. This is the first load I tried and it went about half-inch and I called it good. If memory serves me right, I am running them .050 off the lands.

Awesome combo.

Ran them in a M70 '06 over Varget around 3k and a ways off the lands, for a short time last year. Shot great, with little work up as Huntr too experienced.

I've been running them in mine for while now. 58 grs. of Ramshot Big Game and a Hornady case has put 7 into .8 of an inch at 100 yds. 60-61 grs. of H4350 does almost as well. Very fast load, 2.5 inches up at 100, 3 inches at 200 and about 3.5 inches low at 300 yds. Shoots quite well as much as .080 off the lands but a tad better at .040 off.
Winchester cases do just as well. E

I did a very limited load workup with the 155 Scenar in the 30-06, but haven't shot any since. Great bullet, but I'm just more of a heavy bullet fan.

Anyways, I used 57.0gr RL15 under a moly'd 155 Scenar in Win brass, CCI 200 primer, kissing lands. 3030 fps from 22.5" 1/10 twist barrel. QL predicts pressure around 60K psi, so back off a bit and approach with normal care.

I shot through a box of 155 Scenars in my 30-06 using 59 grains of IMR4350. They shot very well, but I replaced them with 155 Nosler Custom Competitions. It's my practice/range load, and the CCs are cheaper.

Scenars are great bullets, though.
