Well, you've missed the golfing season. It goes from August 1 through August 3 each year. No big loss if you are not a golfer. Mickey, now that's just plain wrong. There still wasn't snow on the greens on the 4th, man. And the ponds had enough ice that you could walk out and retrieve your lost balls. Come on man-get it right! Granted, this was back in the late 70s & early 80s.... but of the guys in our company that were based up in Duluth, belonged to some group, that use to go out on Lake Superior after it froze over and set up a golf course... using Orange Tennis balls as the golf balls... don't know if they still do that, but I have been out with them a couple of times when up there and stayed the weekend...it was alot of fun, and of course involved a lot of alcohol...like Ice Fishing does..

If you don't mind a 45 minute run north there's a Slander Mountain and a Mill's Fleet Farm in Lakeville. Straight north on 35. There is also a Mill's in Owatanna.

I think it is 13 miles. When you take hwy 60 you will see a pretty large sign telling you when to turn. They stock powder, bullets, gun parts, pretty much anything you can think of. They used to have a 200 yd rifle range. I haven't used it lately. Bring money! whelennut

KAYL in Storm Lake used to have Albert City Polka Time on Saturday mornings, sponsored by the A.C. merchants. Kind folks that the area residents were, they didn't hold it against the merchants.

Had a great weekend visiting family and ahlmans was a VERY COOL place. A must for gun lovers! Also went to cabelas and found some reduced recoil slugs for my buddies daughter who wants to hunt but is "recoil tentative"
