Anyone running this combo? Curious if 9.5 twist will stabilize it and what the COAL is kissing the lands.

I've always thought, after having been told repeatedly, that the 162 is a bit long for the 7-08 and would crowd the powder too much. 145's are as heavy as I go with mine.
There are 2 rules to success:
1. Never tell everything that you know.

They've been fine at 2.80 w/R-15. Curious about the Tikka throat.

Don't have my 7-08 t-3 anymore but couldn't reach the lands with the 162's and still have them fit in the magazine.

I do not remember the COL to lands but I will check notes later to see if I wrote it down.
They would NOT fit in the magazine. I bought a long action mag and bolt stop but never used them.
That being said kissing the lands is way overrated when your throat is of the proper diameter, perfectly concentric to the bore and you have the right primer and powder for consistant ignition with low SDs. Mine shot very well with a case full of H4350. No Tikka I have loaded for has ever had a throat short enough to contact the leade with the bullets I shoot and they have all shot beyond my expectations. No chance of ever contacting makes for a safe and reliable rifle in the field. When I have that and I am seeing one hole precision I'm happy.

I'm not arguing that for sure. Looking at doing some mag mods for the 223 1:8 with 75-80gr heavies. Wanted to get and idea of whats going on with other calibers.

I'm not asking how they shoot, what anyone shot, or what anyone's load is.
COAL to the lands, with which bullet, is all I need to know.

Shameless plug, but I have a Tikka bolt stop kit in the classifieds that will lengthen the bolt travel.

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

I haven't had one apart in awhile. Is it not possible for a little dremel work on the existing one?

Yeah, you can lay a LA stop on it for a pattern if desired.
I swapped mag and bolt stop when I wanted to kiss and gain powder capacity with longer pointy pills in my 338Fed. Upon laying the two stops on each other, the mod could easily be done.

What is this 162 Amax I keep reading about? I've yet to see one on a shelf or in stock on a website. Have heard about unicorns before, and still have yet to see one of those too. I think ya'll are full of it and making [bleep] up lol

I have a box of the 162s, but no 7mm anymore. Should someone want them, shoot me a PM and we can discuss.
