Plan to power wash and restain/oil the deck if it ever stops raining. Any of you guys have a commercial or (even better) home made concoction you could recommend to spray on before the power wash? Would appreciate your recommendations.

Some of the cleaners sold by the stain suppliers is an oxegenated cleaner like the oxyclean sold on TV. Biz laundry cleaner has the same ingredient and costs a lot less. I have used both and they work the same. They work decent.

25 year old redwood fence, never cleaned or stained, and pretty much matched the shake shingles on the house. Simple water & bleach mix ( 20-25% )bleach in Hudson sprayer. It was a hot summer day so I'd saturate 8-10 boards followed by pressure washer, repeat until done.

The lighter color about a third the way up is natural bleaching from the sprinklers.
Forgot to add don't use cheap store brand generic bleach.
Clorox is your friend.
