Thought this might be helpful for those with Ruger Americans who want to use SWFA supplied rings or other Pic type rings.

The Ruger bases are soft aluminum and very easy to work.

Here is fitting the SWFA rings supplied with the SS 6x package deal. Go slow, and check often.

Use a small square file to remove metal from the rear surface only, NONE from the forward surface. Gently blow off the particles while working. When all done, a shot of Gun Scrubber is good for the final cleaning.
