Browning BPS stalker 3.5" 12 g with turkey 🦃 loads. Brutal. They made a 10 as well but it was a wee bit heavier - not pleasant by any stretch, but not nearly as nasty as the 12!

My 5 lb 6 oz Baikal 12 gauge single shot with heavy loads like the 2 3/4 " 1 1/2 oz magnum loads were pretty bad back when we used lead on geese. These days it's noticeable when I shoot buckshot but not too bad with standard 1 1/8 oz lead loads.
As for rifles, firing a friend's Marlin guide gun in 450 Marlin and another 45-70 with hot loaded ammo cured me from wanting either one of those guns.

this .45-70 is my worst kicker, and I have a Mossberg 835 turkey gun and a sub 8# .375 RUM. The question immediately comes to mind: "Why do you even have that thing?" I was going to say that. I saw a used one in a gun store. The clerk said that he would throw in a box of shells with 19 unfired shells in it. Ha. That is funny.
