About to replace the rings on a rifle, and while browsing Warne's catalogue, I saw that their 500M series of rings is advertised as being sintered steel. I'm no metallurgist, but doesn't sintering generally result in a much weaker product than rings from, say, a billet? Always had great luck with Warne products, but that seemed strange. Thanks in advance for any input!

Made correctly, sintered parts can be quite strong.

This is kinda the input I was wondering about. I actually found a pair locally to look at in person, and I never would have been able to tell they weren't machined. Anyone else got more experience with this?
